School Bus Figure 8 Rocks Flat Rock Again
Flat Rock, MI (9-19-2008)-- The Pepsi School Bus Figure 8 races made their appearance at Flat Rock Speedway for a rare Friday night event, pushed back due to last Saturday’s monsoon-like rains. Chris Benson captured the Bus feature, while Chris Perry topped the Michigan Legends main. Jeremy Vanderhoof and Dave Tanner captured the Street Stock events in front of a large crowd on a beautiful evening.

2008 Short Track Schedules include Four School Bus Figure 8 Races
TOLEDO OH (3-10-08)--With the new racing season fast-approaching, Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway management is busy completing details for events both new and for the traditional stand-bys at the 2 tracks. New to the schedule at both facilities is Race Car Roller Derby, while the Imperial Stunt Driverís Thrill Show is set for a date at Toledo in 2008.
...Racer's Reunion, MARFC Banquet This Saturday at Toledo Speedway Bar & Grill
TOLEDO OH (3-10-08)-All racing fans, track officials, racers and former racers are invited to the Toledo Speedway Bar & Grill this weekend forseveral racing-related festivities. A Racer's Reunion is slated to begin at 12 noon on Saturday, March 15th at the Toledo Speedway Bar & Grill Banquet Room. Beginning at 2 p.m., the bar will air ABC's broadcast of the Sharpie Mini 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race. At 6 p.m. the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club will hold their monthly meeting.
...Fans Flock to "The Rock" For Fun
FLAT ROCK, MI (6-14-2008)-- They arrived late, but they arrived! A huge crowd piled into Flat Rock Speedway for the Marco’s Pizza School Bus Figure 8 races on a beautiful Saturday evening. SPEED Channel’s Ray Dunlap was victorious in the Bus event, while Levi Rouster, Eric Huston and Ray McClure also posted victories. The SPEED Channel crew of Phil Parsons, Krista Voda and Adam Alexander were on hand to greet the fans and cheer on Dunlap and Rick Allen, who took a run in a Factory Stock.
...Great Racing, Fireworks Highlight Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK, MI (7-12-2008)-- A late morning rain gave way to eventually clear skies and a chance to finally complete a weekly race card at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night. For the first time in over a month, the track’s 3 weekly divisions were able to compete. Saturday’s Miller Lite Triple 50’s were filled with great racing in an action-packed night, capped off by the famous Flat Rock Speedway Volcano Fireworks display. Dennis Strickland, Dennis Whisman, Randy DeMaggio and Jim Rae captured main event wins.

Randy DeMaggio took the lead on lap 21 and spent the remainder of the 100-lap feature battling with someone or the other. He won what was probably the biggest race of his racing career when he was victorious in the Street Stock 100-lap feature Saturday night.

FLAT ROCK, MI (5-3-2008)-- While rain fell for much of the day just 3 miles from the track, Flat Rock Speedway saw just a pair of quick showers that lasted only a few minutes. The decision was made to continue with Saturday’s racing card. A dedicated cast of fans and race teams showed for the Armed Forces/Good Neighbor Night, taking in a swift and very competitive night of racing, which turned quite cold and breezy. Lee-Miller-DeMaggio-Abel Tops on Allen Chevy Night at Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK, MI (5-10-2008)-- Eric Lee, Jeremy Miller, Randy DeMaggio and Rich Abel were victorious in their respective feature events on Allen Chevrolet-Cadillac Night at Flat Rock Speedway. A crisp, clear evening greeted fans for the third night of racing at the ¼ mile asphalt oval. Tom Allen of Allen Chevy presented the trophies to the victors.
...Hahn Takes Heritage Newspapers 100 at Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK MI (5-31-2008)-- The best night of weather for the 2008 season brought out a good crowd to Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night. Local favorite Paul Hahn captured the Heritage Newspapers 100 for the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, while Dennis Whisman topped a thrilling Figure 8 main, Regan Ford and Ed Hindall notched the Street Stock feature wins. Brad Turner capped the night with the win in the 4 Cylinder Main event. Bob DeSloover, representing the Heritage papers, presented the trophies to the winners. A large group of Scouts were on hand for Scout Night, and the UAW Local 387/3000 members were also in attendance.

Schroeder Scores Upset Win in Moran Chevy/Yee Memorial 150
Flat Rock, MI: (7-26-08)-- For those who follow Flat Rock Speedway’s Late Model class, everyone knows just how competitive it is. And for those that witnessed Saturday night’s Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150, Justin Schroeder’s win might be an upset of sorts. But the Canton, MI youngster, who has improved all season, made his first-ever win very, very special with the victory and a $2866 payday in the track’s longest race of the season. Ann Yee, Stan Sr.’s widow, made the “Gold Buddha” trophy presentation to Justin in the Greater Detroit Auto Auction Winner’s Circle.
...Pelletier-Miller-Ford Jr.-Chartrand Flat Rock Winners
Flat Rock, MI (8-23-2008)-- With temperatures in the 90’s and humidity to match, there was extra flavor added to Saturday night’s Stoney Creek Auto Parts Kids Night at Flat Rock Speedway. Over 500 kids were in attendance to take advantage of the track’s free admission, hot dog, chips and a drink for kids 14 and under. On the track, the action was sometimes wild and extremely entertaining and exciting. Paul Pelletier, Jeremy Miller, Dan Ford Jr. and Steve Chartrand were feature winners. Kevin Butzin of Stoney Creek, who also competed in the Late Model class, made trophy presentations to the victors. The entire race card was completed at 9:45 p.m.

Track officials will make a decision at noon today regarding today's event. We will also be announcing a future rain date for the School Bus Figure 8 race in the event of a rain out.
Currently, the set rain date is Sunday September 14th, but due to storms and effects from Hurricane Ike this date may change. Please visit www.flatrockspeedway.com for up to date information.

...Flat Rock's School Bus Figure 8 Show Rained Out; Re-set For Friday, September 19
Flat Rock, MI (9-13-08): A solid rain pattern has forced the postponement of the Pepsi School Bus Figure 8 races Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway. Track officials have reset the race for Friday, Septermber 19th at 7:30 p.m. The original rain date was for Sunday afternoon, but the steadying effects of Hurricane Ike on the weather forecast for tomorrow for more rain pushed the make-up date to next Friday evening.
ALL tickets dated for September 13th will be honored for the Friday, September 19th show date. Times will change slightly; the front gates and box office will both open at 5 p.m., with racing at 7:30 p.m. The pit gate will open at 5 p.m. with practice slated for 6 p.m.
ALL general admission tickets and kids' tickets will go on sale at 5:30 when the box office opens. A small amount of reserved seating remains. Those will go on sale Monday morning by calling the track office at 734-782-2480.
In addition to the School Bus Figure 8 race, the Michigan Legends Cars and the Street Stocks/Figure 8's (on the oval track) will be in competition.

TOLEDO OH (4-25-08)--The orange barrels just keeping appearing! TELEGRAPH ROAD at West Road is 1 lane in each direction until Friday, May 2. If you use Telegraph to get to Flat Rock Speedway, avoid it! Best bet is to exit at Gibraltar Road west, which takes you to downtown Flat Rock. Go left at Telegraph to the track.

FLAT ROCK, MI (5-16-08)--Flat Rock Speedway and Pepsi-Cola have teamed up with Autism Speaks to present the Pepsi-Autism Speaks 250 lap Enduro race Sunday afternoon, May 25 at the track. The ARCA David's Jewelry 4 Cylinders will also be in action. Race time is 1 p.m.

Rains Flood Out Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial at Flat Rock
Re-Set For Next Saturday, June 28th
Flat Rock, MI: (6-21-08)-- Mother Nature unleashed heavy rains, thunder, lightning and strong winds at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday afternoon, wiping out the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 for the ARCA Late Models. The biggest race of the season at “The Rock” has been rescheduled for next Saturday, June 28. The entire program will follow the same schedule next Saturday.

The decision has been made to allow Late Model teams to run 4 new tires if they choose for the Saturday, July 12 event at Flat Rock Speedway. Tires will again be impounded after the feature race July 12.

SOUTHGATE MI (7-16-08)--For those of you that stayed home, you missed two terrific 50 lappers. Both the Super Late Models and the Street Stock A division feature were hotly contested and lot of side by side racing. Both divisions the top six cars pretty much ran under a blanket. I think the largest lead for either division was maybe a car length if that... mostly everyone ran doorhandle to doorhandle.
...Justin Schroeder Scores First Career Outlaw Win in The Biggest Race of the Year
Flat Rock, MI 7/28/08- Some say a win is a win but when it's the first of your career and not to mention that it's the biggest race of the year so far, it may be just a bit more special than an average win. Twenty-one year old Justin Schroeder made a dream come true as he won the Stan Yee Memorial 150 at the Flat Rock Speedway in dominating fashion. Schroeder took the lead on lap eighty and never looked back lapping the entire field with the exception of second and third place finishers.

Flat Rock, MI (8-3-2008)-- Veteran Tristan Dupuis made it 2 in a row after capturing the Mt. Dew 250 lap Enduro at Flat Rock Speedway on a bright, sunny Sunday afternoon. Mike Bershback topped the field in the 25 lap ARCA David’s Jewelry 4 Cylinder main event.

Rain Hits Flat Rock Again
Flat Rock, MI (8-9-2008)-- Flat Rock Speedway suffered yet another rainout, as the Lakeshore Utility Trailer Night fell victim to the elements. All of qualifying was completed, as the Buckeye Super Sprints, Flat Rock’s Figure 8’s, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders all time trialed before the rain. The Michigan Legends were also on hand for the big 5 division program.
The rain began at the end of qualifying at 6:25 p.m. and the track was just about ready to go when another rain hit the track at 7:45 p.m., ending the racing card.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-10-08): For the fourth time in the last eight Saturday events, Flat Rock Speedway suffered yet another cancellation of its race card. The Lakeshore Utility Trailer Sales-sponsored event of August 9, featuring the Buckeye Super Sprints, Michigan Legends and the track's weekly ARCA Street Stocks, Figure 8's and 4 Cylinders fell victim to the rain. A total of 105 cars were on hand.
