Justin Schroeder Scores First Career Outlaw Win in The Biggest Race of the Year

Flat Rock, MI 7/28/08- Some say a win is a win but when it's the first of your career and not to mention that it's the biggest race of the year so far, it may be just a bit more special than an average win. Twenty-one year old Justin Schroeder made a dream come true as he won the Stan Yee Memorial 150 at the Flat Rock Speedway in dominating fashion. Schroeder took the lead on lap eighty and never looked back lapping the entire field with the exception of second and third place finishers.

After battling rain in the first part of the day, which has been customary to the quarter mile Flat Rock Speedway, the JMS Racing team quickly tuned the #4 Glass Unlimited of Westland/G. Michael Kabot Orthodontics/Victory Race Part Outlaw Late Model to post the second quickest lap during qualifying just missing the fast qualifier award. After the mandatory inversion was determined Justin would take the green flag from the ninth position.

While it took three attempts to get the 150-lap event started it took almost no time for Schroeder to start his pursuit through traffic. A lap seventy-one caution was exactly what the doctor ordered for the youngster as he drove right by fellow competitor Eric Lee and never looked back leading the next seventy laps and capturing his first ever Outlaw Late Model win in just his second year of competition.

"I really can't even start to explain how much I've wanted this to happen. Both myself and my team have come a long way since we first started racing these cars, so to win the biggest race of the year here and it being my first ever win is really pretty cool. I just want to thank everyone who has gotten me to this point like my sponsors G. Michael Kabot Orthodontics, Glass Unlimited, Victory Race Parts, and All-Star Performance and of course most of all my mom and dad who's supported me since day one," stated an excited Justin Schroeder.

While becoming a first time winner is cause for celebration, Justin Schroeder will not have any time to dwell as the Canton, Michigan native will head to the Dixie Motor Speedway for the Port City Racecars Dixie Cup 100 next weekend. Then it will be back to the ultra fast Toledo Speedway where Justin is amidst the Gold Cup championship battle sitting third in the standings just ten points out of first with just two races remaining. The first of those two races will come in just two weeks on August 8th where Schroeder will look to gain some ground on the points leader Harold Fair Jr.
