Bergakker goes for Five Straight | Stan Yee 150 Entry List
This Saturday night, Brian Bergakker looks to take his fifth consecutive Moran Chevrolet Stan Yee 150 victory.
July 19, 2023 -- The biggest race of the year at Flat Rock Speedway is this Saturday night, July 22nd, with the 15th running of the Moran Chevrolet Stan Yee Memorial 150 presented by DTS Drive Train Specialists and Fraza.
This 150-lap Outlaw Super Late Model event is one of the most highly sought-after races in the region, and the longest race of the season for the Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Models division.
The race is named after Stan Yee Sr, a championship late model car builder who competed in the midwest short track racing scene for over 40 years. Yee Sr captured a number of victories as an owner to many of the biggest talents in late model racing across the midwest. Yee Sr, a Chinese-American East Detroiter, was known as an innovator and a champion for the length of his career. Yee’s favorite race, the 150-lap late model feature, was named in his honor after he passed in 2008.
Stan Yee Jr is a generational racer who won the 2003 late model season championship in a family-built car. Yee Jr is expected to compete in this race in his family’s familiar #33 car. Yee took his first late model feature victory of the season on June 10, 2023 in front of an electric sold-out crowd in Flat Rock. Yee Jr looks to take his first win in the race named after his father this Saturday night. He has some very stiff competition to work with.
Brian Bergakker comes into this event as the reigning champion. No driver has won this event more than the Middleville, Michigan driver, as he has captured four consecutive victories in the 150 lap feature (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022). Bergakker comes in as a heavy favorite, but there is strong competition expected around the front of the pack.
In 2021, Bergakker swept the two crown jewel Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Model races at Flat Rock, the DTS Drive Train Specialists Joy Fair 100 and the Moran Chevrolet Stan Yee 150. In 2022, he did it again.
On Saturday Night, July 22nd 2023, he could make it an unprecedented three-peat.
New Boston’s Paul Pelletier comes into this race second in the season points standings, as he looks to take his second victory of the season. The veteran last won the Flat Rock 150 lap feature race in 2006, more than 16 years ago.
In five features so far this season, five different drivers have taken victories. Justin Claucherty, Chris Benson, Brian Bergakker, Paul Pelletier, and Stan Yee Jr all look to end that streak this Saturday night!
For drivers leading the pack without a win so far this season, Conner Zbozien may be top of mind for many race fans.
Zbozien currently leads the Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Models division point standings. The consistent young driver looks to take his first win of the season this Saturday, as well as looking down the road to capture his first ever full-season championship in the division. Zbozien drives the orange #45 car owned by Pat Moran and Dick Barker, and is competing while working on his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Kettering University.
Justin Schroeder is also a former champion of this event, taking the first annual Stan Yee 150 back in 2008. He looks to take his second victory in this race, his first win of the season.

The ARCA DTS Street Stocks 50 lap A Main and 25 lap B Main will be a part of this huge night of racing.
The ARCA R & M Recycling Figure 8’s return to action also on July 22 with a full show of heats and a 20-lap feature on the Figure 8 course.
There is no advance sale for the July 22 event. ALL tickets will go on sale at the track on race day when the spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. Race time is 7 p.m. for the July 22 race. Tickets are $25 for adults, children 6-12 are $5 and under 6 are free.
