Saturday, July 8: Royal Truck-Trailer Sales Triple 50's!

Thursday, July 6 -- Saturday Night will be the Royal Truck-Trailer Sales Triple 50’s at Flat Rock! This unique event features three different 50-lap features in one night of racing, hosting a wild triple header including the Salenbien Excavating Late Model Sportsman, DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock, and R&M Recycling Figure 8 divisions.

As an extra bonus, the touring series VROA Vintage Modifieds will return to Flat Rock for the first time in 2023.

The evening will be capped off with the Monroe Superstore Fireworks as a shimmering end to this exciting night of racing.

Salenbien Excavating Late Model Sportsman

The Salenbien Excavating Late Model Sportsman division will be back in action at Flat Rock Speedway for the first time in 2023 in a 50-lap feature, the opening section of the Royal Truck-Trailer Sales Triple 50’s. The series, which mainly competes at Toledo Speedway throughout the season, will visit Flat Rock in a special night of racing. Howard Kelley Jr won the Toledo Speedway Late Model Sportsman feature back on June 18th as a part of the Fathers Day Special Presented by Monroe Asphalt over Jim Froling, Kyle Worley, and Ron Allen. Last to win in Late Model Sportsman action at Flat Rock was 2022 division champion Jim Froling, who won in a big night of action back on July 16, 2022.

VROA Vintage Modifieds

The VROA Vintage Modifieds return to Flat Rock this Saturday Night, with classic vintage racing providing a great amount of action in this touring series division. Dave Sensiba both returns to Flat Rock as a familiar name from Stan Yee 150 competition, as well as the defending winner of the last VROA Vintage Modifieds trip to Flat Rock in July 2022. Sensiba, a former competitor in the ASA National Tour, won the most recent VROA Vintage Modifieds touring series race back on June 24th at Berlin.

DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks

Following the 25-lap modifieds feature, the Royal Truck-Trailer Sales Triple 50’s will continue with a 50-lap feature for the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks division, who come to Flat Rock in their 7th race of the season so far. Jeremy Vanderhoof holds a steady grip over the lead of the season point standings thus far, holding a 55-point lead over Kenyon Knight in the #19. Knight is still looking for his first ever feature win in a Street Stock at Flat Rock Speedway. Vanderhoof has three feature wins out of six races so far, but is the only driver in the top five in points with a feature win so far this season. Kenyon Knight, Landon Schuster, Johnny Rangel, and Rob Moore Jr have all shown speed, but are looking toward Saturday night as their next chance to get in Monroe Asphalt Winners Circle for the first time in 2023.

Sixth in point standings is certainly a driver to watch this Saturday night, as Jeff Metdepenningen is no stranger to endurance races at Flat Rock. He recently won the first 50-lap DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock feature back in an exhilarating win on June 3rd.

R&M Recycling Figure 8's

Closing out the Royal Truck-Trailer Sales Triple 50’s will be the R&M Recycling Figure 8 division, who come to Flat Rock in the seventh race of their season thus far, their first in a 50-lap format. Jeremy Vanderhoof holds a slight points lead over Dennis Whisman Jr in this division, heading into a long one in Metro Detroit. Whisman Jr won the last feature race back on June 17th, taking the win over Greg Studt.

Monroe Superstore Fireworks

Following this night of festivities will be the Monroe Superstore Fireworks Show, which continues a long and storied tradition at Flat Rock Speedway!
