Flat Rock, MI—June 20, 2018: For just the second time in its 66 year history, 2 types of Late Models will race on the same night at Flat Rock Speedway. It’s the “Level Pebble 200”, featuring a 125 lap feature for the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Models and a 75 lap race for the ARCA Gold Cup outlaw-bodied Late Model Series. The race date is Saturday, June 23 at the fast ¼ mile paved oval.
Fans can save $5 on an advance ticket purchase for the event by calling the track at 734-782-2480 or stopping at the track office. All seating is general admission for this race. The advance sale ends at Noon Friday, June 22.
The early entry list for the ARCA/CRA cars includes defending race winner Brian Campbell, Scott Hantz, 4-time Flat Rock Late Model champ Eric Lee, current Series point leader Josh Brock, local drivers Harold Fair Jr., Hayden Sprague, Brandon Varney and Nick Grodi. Youngster Carson Hocevar will make his first-ever appearance at Flat Rock, while veteran driver Steve Dorer has also entered. A field of 20 cars is expected.
The 75 lap contest for the ARCA Gold Cup Series Late Models will see 2018 Flat Rock feature winners Jimmy Thiel, Craig Everage and Paul Pelletier on the list of entries. Several out of town drivers are also entered, including Justin Claucherty and Mike Root. 2017 track champ Justin Schroeder is also entered. Thiel captured the 2017 edition of this race.
The Gold Cup sponsors include Moran Chevrolet, Diamond Racing Products, DTS Drive Train Specialists, Royal Truck and Trailer, Dani’s Transport, Francis Engineering and HABCO Tool and Development.
The track’s ARCA Victory Lane Quick Oil Change Figure 8 division will also be in action with a full race card on the schedule.
Practice begins at 3 p.m., time trials are set for 5:30 and racing begins at 7 p.m. The current pre-entry lists can be found at www.flatrockspeedway.com in the next race box on the home page.
