Flat Rock, MI—April 22, 2017: With the weather finally making what is hoped to be the turn to summer and warmer temperatures, track officials are preparing for the 2017 Jet’s Pizza Season Opener at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday evening, April 29.

The ¼ mile paved oval, known as “The Rock”, roars to life as the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, ARCA Victory Lane Oil Change Figure 8’s and the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks hit the track for the first event of the new season. The same 3 divisions have been featured at the speedway since 1977.

Race teams participated in a pre-season practice April 15, with 52 teams on hand. An additional practice session has been added for Tuesday, April 25, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The pit gates open at 3:30.

The Saturday, April 29 time schedule has the pits opening at 1 p.m., practice begins at 3 (front gates will also open at 3), time trials are set for 5:15 and racing get the first green flag of the season at 7 p.m. Saturday night action continues through the summer months, with a special Sunday night show (July 2) and a Friday night event (August 4) also on the 2017 schedule.

Sunday, May 7, the Flat Rock Historical Society Flea Market will take place at the speedway. Admission is free to the grounds, as is parking. The market runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. For vendor information, please contact 734-782-5220 or log onto www.flatrockhistory.org.
