Fresh off Kalamazoo win, Ohio's Ali Kern ready to tackle Flat Rock in the ARCA/CRA Super Series event

(TOLEDO, Ohio – Aug. 13, 2014) – Ali Kern, who will be in the ARCA/CRA Super Series lineup at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday, Aug. 15, will be looking for her second straight checkered flag.

Kern, 19, won the ARCA/CRA Super Series race at Kalamazoo Speedway Wednesday as part of a racing double header. The speedway also hosted its annual Kalamazoo Klash outlaw late model race, which was won by Jeff Ganus.

Kern, the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year, took the lead with seven laps to go and stayed in front for her first career win. Next up for her and the rest of the ARCA/CRA Super Series drivers is the race at the quarter-mile Flat Rock Speedway oval.

Flat Rock is playing host to the 7-Up 125 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS’s Saturday.  NASCAR driver David Ragan will make a guest appearance at the track to sign autographs and chat with the fans prior to the 7-Up 125 lap feature.  Ragan will compete at Michigan International Speedway Sunday in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

Ragan is expected to arrive around 6 p.m. and will meet the fans.  At 6:30, Ragan will join the ARCA/CRA drivers for an on-track autograph session. The track's ARCA Praxair Figure 8 class and the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks will also compete Saturday night.

Among the ARCA/CRA Super Series drivers scheduled to be in the lineup are Eric Lee, Tim Ice, Hunter Baize, Grant Quinlan, Brian Campbell and Scott Hantz.

Baize made his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut last weekend at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. Quinlan is the series point leader with Baize second. Ganus, the winner of the outlaw race at Kalamazoo, is in the lineup for Friday’s ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Sales Gold Cup race at Toledo Speedway. Ganus enters that race as the Gold Cup point leader. Indiana driver Scott Hantz has filed an entry for both events.

Saturday's Flat Rock schedule has the pit area opening at 1 p.m. for the ARCA/CRA teams and 2:30 for the Figure 8 and Street Stock divisions.  Practice begins at 3:30, time trials are at 5:30 (Street Stock, Figure 8 and ARCA/CRA in that order), an on-track autograph session with the ARCA/CRA teams is at 6:30 with racing at 7 p.m.
