BIG LATE MODEL WEEKEND AT TOLEDO, FLAT ROCK; NASCAR’S DAVID RAGAN SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS AT “THE ROCK”

(Toledo, OH—August 13, 2015):  Late Model race fans are in for a treat Friday and Saturday as Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways will present two big events this weekend.  Toledo will be the site of the Miller Lite 100 lap feature presented by Grogan’s Towne and Royal Truck-Trailer for the outlaw-bodied Late Models Friday, August 14, while Flat Rock plays host to the 7-Up 125 for the stock-bodied ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models powered by Jeg’s Saturday, August 15.  NASCAR driver David Ragan will be at Flat Rock to greet the fans and sign autographs as part of the festivities Saturday.

Friday’s race at Toledo will see the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup Series combine forces with the Main Event Late Model Series for the Miller Lite 100.  A field of 20-24 cars is expected.  Current point leader Jeff Ganus, who happens to be the leader for both the Gold Cup and Main Event Series, will be looking to clinch his first Gold Cup championship.  The Main Event group has several races remaining in its 2015 season.

In addition to the 100 lap contest, the ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman will battle for 35 laps, also on the ½ mile track and the ARCA R & M Recycling X Cars will stage their Season Championship race on the short track Friday evening.

A rain date of Friday, August 21 has been set for this event should Mother Nature interfere with the August 14 race card.

The action moves to Flat Rock, MI Speedway Saturday, August 15, just 30 miles north of Toledo.  NASCAR driver David Ragan will make a guest appearance at the track to sign autographs and chat with the fans prior to the 7-Up 125 lap feature for the ARCA/CRA Super Series stock-bodied Late Models.  Ragan will compete at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) Sunday in NASCAR’s premier Sprint Cup Series.

David is expected to arrive around 6 p.m. and will meet the fans.  At 6:30, David will join the ARCA/CRA drivers for an on-track autograph session. The track’s ARCA Praxair Figure 8 class and the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks will also compete Saturday night.

Toledo’s schedule has the pit gates opening at 2:30 p.m., with practice beginning at 4:30.  Time trials are set for 6:30 and race time is 7:30 p.m.  ALL tickets will go on sale at 4:30 p.m. when the front gates and ticket office opens.

Saturday’s Flat Rock schedule has the pit area opening at 1 p.m. for the ARCA/CRA teams and 2:30 for the Figure 8 and Street Stock divisions.  Practice begins at 3:30, time trials are at 5:30 (Street Stock, Figure 8 and ARCA/CRA in that order), the on-track autograph session with the ARCA/CRA teams is at 6:30 and racing begins at 7 p.m.
