 Flat Rock Rains Out Again

 FLAT ROCK MI (5-14-05)  For the second time in 4 weeks, Flat Rock Speedway's Saturday night racing program was shut down by rain.  The Allen Chevrolet-Cadillac/U.A.W. Local 387/3000 Scout Night was the victim of the elements.

The next event at Flat Rock is set for Saturday, May 21.  The popular Leppen Chiropractic Bicycle Give-Away is on the schedule, and will be coupled with the rescheduled Allen Chevrolet/Cadillac-U.A.W. Local 387/3000 Night and Scout Night.  All scouts in uniform will be admitted free of charge, with leaders in uniform or with an ID card also admitted free.  It is also Armed Forces Appreciation Night, with all military personnel, active or retired, admitted free with military ID.  All Allen and U.A.W. tickets for May 14 will be honored May 21.

An array of bicycles will be given away to some lucky young race fans next weekend at the speedway, courtesy of Leppen Chiropractic.

A large crowd is expected for the racing card, which will feature the ARCA Allen Chevrolet-Cadillac/Budweiser Late Models, the Casite Figure 8's and the Subway Sandwiches Street Stocks.  A field of over 90 cars should fill the pit area for the evening's activities.

The pit gates will open at 2, practice and the front gate opens at 3:30, with time trials set for 5 and racing starts at 7 p.m. every Saturday night.

 100 LAP FIGURE 8 RACE, ENDURO 250 FILLS OUT MAY CALENDAR OF EVENTS

 Saturday, May 28 the "Motor City Madmen", the ARCA Casite Figure 8 division will battle in their biggest race of the season in the Subway Sandwiches 100.  The 100 lap contest on the Figure 8 track provides lap after lap of thrills and near-misses at the intersection the entire event.  The Street Stocks will join the Figure 8's with a full race card for their class.

 Sunday afternoon, May 29 is the first of five-250 lap Enduro races at "The Rock".  The Diet Pepsi 250 lap event will see junkyard-bound cars running 250 laps for a top prize of $1000.  The ARCA 4 Cylinder cars will also take to the track for heat races and a feature event.  Sunday's race time is 1 p.m.
