Flat Rock, MI: Flat Rock Speedway and Lather Barbershop are proud to announce Mullet Mayhem, slated for Saturday, August 8, 2026. Mullet Mayhem is a mullet competition organized by Lather Barbershop, with locations in Flat Rock, MI and Monroe, MI. As the popularity of the competition has grown, a new larger venue was needed for the event.

Flat Rock Speedway is set to host the competition on Saturday, August 8. Alongside the 350 Outlaw Supermodifieds, DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks, National Compact Touring Series and the Monroe Asphalt Factory Stock 500 Series racing the same night.

Not only are Flat Rock Speedway and Lather Barbershop looking to have a fun night at the race track for fans and drivers, but the competition is to benefit Children With Hair Loss.

Children With Hair Loss opened in September 2000. After researching, they didn’t find any other organizations that were giving human hair replacements to children at no cost. CWHL’s mission and goals were to never charge a family at a time when they need the most help. After years of intense fundraising, CWHL was able to purchase their first building in 2005. The headquarters resides in South Rockwood, Michigan, in an old renovated fire station. Originally, CWHL’s focus was on children fighting cancer, until they found out that there were a lot of other reasons why children lost hair, including Alopecia, burns, Trichotillomania and other rare diseases and disorders. To this day, Children With Hair Loss has never charged a child. Currently, providing a customized human hair replacement and care kit to over 600 children a year!

“We are beyond excited to work with Leah and her team at Lather Barbershop to bring this event to life.” Said Brandon Hamby, General Manager at Flat Rock Speedway. “Not only is it going to be a fun night for our fans and drivers, but it is helping benefit a great local cause with the Children With Hair Loss charity.”

All mullet entries will be through Lather Barbershops website. Every official entry will receive a complimentary ticket to the race on Saturday, August 8. The winner of the competition will receive a championship belt as well as other items. More information will be announced at a later date.
