Flat Rock Speedway First Michigan Track to Join High School Racing Association Series

FLAT ROCK, MI - Flat Rock Speedway – known as The Motor City Speedway – and the High School Racing Association (HSRA) series are excited to announce their partnership for the 2026 race season. Flat Rock becomes the first Michigan race track to partner with HSRA.
The Detroit area’s home for asphalt oval short-track racing, Flat Rock Speedway is a 1/4 mile, paved oval located just south of Flat Rock, Michigan and also has a figure 8 course.
Flat Rock Speedway hosts weekly racing from mid-April through the beginning of October. The track's divisions include Outlaw Super Late Models, Figure 8, Street Stocks, Late Model, Sportsman and Factory Stocks. Today, the track is owned by ARCA Menards Series president Ron Drager and the General Manager is Brandon Hamby. It is known as the sister track to nearby Toledo Speedway, also owned and operated by Drager and at which Hamby is the General Manager as well.
“We’re excited to bring HSRA to Michigan for the first time,” said HSRA Series Director Jonathan Eckelberg. “Ron and Brandon with Flat Rock Speedway understand the dire need to get young people into our sport and are dedicated to the success of our series.”
Flat Rock Speedway has added HSRA to the following 2026 race nights, where high school students will have the chance to compete against their classmates and rival schools! Racing begins at 7:00 p.m.
“It has been a focal point of ours this winter to invest in youth racing at Flat Rock,” said Ron Drager, owner of Flat Rock Speedway. “Jonathan and the HSRA are going to help out tremendously in introducing local youth and high schools to racing at Flat Rock Speedway. We are excited to start this project alongside him.”
The HSRA features American production six-cylinder stock cars with numerous safety requirements. Students entering their freshman year of high school, current high school students as well as those just graduating from high school, with a minimum age of 14 and maximum age of 19 are eligible to compete.
A complete set of rules and regulations can be found on the official HSRA website at highschoolracing.org.
