BREAKING: Brand New Autograph Session at Flat Rock Speedway THIS Saturday!

May 15, 2023 -- For the first time in Flat Rock Speedway history, Saturday’s Dutch Boy 150 will include a pre-race autograph session in the garage area of the Level Pebble!

Free with admission on Saturday, May 20th, this event will take place between 6:00 PM and 6:45 PM in the garage area of Flat Rock Speedway.

Traditionally, pre-race autograph sessions have been held on the front stretch of Flat Rock Speedway. For this special event, Flat Rock Speedway will put you up close to the action like never before!

The autograph session will give a unique look into the seldom-seen aspects of racing, as fans will get an opportunity to see drivers in the “clubhouse of auto racing”.

This will be the first ever pre-race autograph session in Flat Rock’s garage area in the speedway’s 71-year history.

This garage area autograph session allows for fans to see R&M Recycling Figure 8, DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock, and ARCA Menards Series East teams in their work environment just before they get ready to go for a historic night of racing, in more ways than one!

Historic Saturday Night Event

The ARCA Menards Series East Dutch Boy 150 is ARCA’s first race at Flat Rock Speedway since May of 2000, and the ARCA Menards Series East’s first ever race on the Level Pebble.

This return will be a star-studded event as drivers William Sawalich, Luke Fenhaus, Lavar Scott, and others have already entered into the lineup. Venturini Motorsports team owner and ARCA alumni Billy Venturini will drive in this event in his first ARCA competition since 2007.

Venturini discussed this upcoming run as a one-off event: “I am not coming out of retirement,” said Venturini with a laugh last week. “I never got to race at Flat Rock when I was racing full time. I don’t have a desire to be a racecar driver again, I’ve been there and done that. But I do have a desire to do this.”

This will be the ARCA Menards Series platform’s 57th visit to Flat Rock Speedway, the first 56 taking place between 1953 and 2000. The track’s first races were a pair of 250-lap events, run on the same day, both won by the mysterious Julian Petty, his only two series victories. Other winners at Flat Rock Speedway over the years include Bob Hunter, Bill Lutz, Les Snow, Iggy Katona, Bobby Watson, Andy Hampton, Ramo Stott, Ron Hutcherson, A. Arnold, Moose Myers, Bill Green, Bill Kimmel, Jim Cushman, Marvin Smith, Bob Dotter, Lee Raymond, Bobby Jacks, Bill Venturini, Ed Hage, Bob Keselowski, Tracy Leslie, Dave Weltmeyer, Grant Adcox, Bobby Bowsher, Harold Fair, Jeremy Mayfield, Gary Bradberry, Andy Hillenburg, Joe Ruttman, Tim Steele, Frank Kimmel, and Bill Baird. Kimmel won the final race in 2000.

The race is scheduled for 150 laps to be run straight through with no break or competition cautions. Teams will be permitted to pit for adjustments and emergency service on the infield intersection used for the weekly Figure-8 division at the track.

Racing will also take part in the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks division, as well as the R&M Recycling Figure 8 division. In the street stocks, Temperance’s Jeremy Vanderhoof is looking to defend his 2022 street stocks championship against tight competition with local stars. In the Figure 8 division, 2022 division champion Billy Earley (Romulus) will look to defend his title against a horde of the Motor City Madmen.

The autograph session will start at 6 PM. Racing begins at 7 PM.
