FLAT ROCK’S MORAN CHEVROLET-STAN YEE MEMORIAL 150 JULY 23

Flat Rock, MI:  Flat Rock Speedway’s biggest race of the season, the Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150 presented by DTS Drive Train Specialists, is set for Saturday night, July 23.  Middleville, MI driver Brian Bergakker is the defending race winner.

Yee was a championship car owner in the Late Model ranks for over 40 years.  His son, Stan Jr. captured the 2003 Flat Rock title and is entered for the prestigious event.  Stan passed away in 2008. 

Winners of the Yee Memorial race include Justin Schroeder (2008), Mike Luberda Jr. (2009), Mike Root (2010, 2012), Eric Lee (2011), Phil Bozell (2013), Harold Fair Jr. (2014), Jeff Ganus (2015), Dakota Carlson (2016), Jimmy Thiel (2017) and Bergakker, who has won this event 3 times in a row (2018, 2019, 2021).  The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled Flat Rock’s entire 2020 racing season.

The race will award $3000 to the winner and $650 to start the contest.  Bonus awards include the Winners Electric $200 Fast Qualifier Award, lap money at $5 per lap and the $50 Moran Chevrolet Hard Charger Award.  Penske Shocks will award a $200 product certificate to the winner and a $100 product certificate to the 5th place finisher.

Just 50 laps remain for lap sponsorship as of July 15.  Call 734-782-2480 to become a lap sponsor..it’s just $5 per lap!

There is no advance ticket sale.  ALL tickets go on sale at 4:30 p.m. at the track when the ticket office and front gates open.

Race day on Saturday will see the pit area opening at 2:30, practice begins at 4:30 p.m. and the front gates will also open at that time.  Single car qualifying for the 150 will follow practice.  The track’s ARCA R & M Recycling Figure 8 division will also be in action.  Racing gets the green flag at 7 p.m.

A rain date of the following Saturday, July 30, has been established if needed.
