LOCAL FAVORITES RETURN TO FLAT ROCK FOR VANDOORN DEVELOPMENT 200 PRESENTED BY FRAZA; LEE PULLS DOUBLE DUTY SATURDAY

June 15, 2022:  Flat Rock Speedway will host a Super Late Model double-header Saturday, June 18 as the VanDoorn Racing Development 200 presented by Fraza takes place.  Late Model fans will see both the stock-bodied ARCA/CRA Super Series/Jeg’s All Star Tour and the track’s ARCA Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Models in separate feature events.  The CRA contest is a 125 event and is combining the 2 CRA groups (different engine requirements) into 1 division.  The Outlaw-bodied cars will compete in a 75-lap feature.  The Vault ARCA Factory Stock division is also on the schedule.

Flat Rock and its sister track, Toledo Speedway, are the only tracks at this time that have scheduled both types of Super Late Models on the same race card.

While the Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Model entries, which compete regularly at the track, is dominated by local drivers, the ARCA/CRA group is a mix of familiar names to Flat Rock fans and a homecoming of sorts for several drivers.

ARCA/CRA entrants Ethan Stadniczuk, Jeff Vrsek, Jimmy Tucker, David Liaeff and Max Fair have plenty of laps of experience at the tough ¼ mile paved oval.  Stadniczuk has wins in the ARCA Enduro/Factory Stocks and Street Stocks; Vrsek, a former Outlaw Super Late driver at the track, has switched his attention to the CRA Series, and has 2 wins at Flat Rock; Tucker was the 2016 Enduro champion, while Liaeff has a pair of Street Stock wins to his credit.  Fair looks to carry on the legacy of the Harold Fair family as the 4th generation driver.  Max has a Street Stock win in the books.

Current Flat Rock Moran Chevy Outlaw Super Late point leader, 5-time king and defending track champion Eric Lee will pull double duty, competing in both the 125 lap and 75 lap events.  Justin Schroeder, another Flat Rock regular who has 2 Flat Rock titles to his credit, will concentrate on his ARCA/CRA car for this Saturday’s event.

The remainder of the ARCA/CRA entry list includes Kyle Crump, who has several big wins in the past 2 seasons to his credit.  Brothers Brandon and Evan Varney are entered, as is 2021 ARCA/CRA champion Hunter Jack.

The June 18th event at Flat Rock Speedway will be the series first-ever event at that track that has been a staple of the ARCA/CRA Super Series for many seasons. The 125-lap event will be a combo points event for both the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour with a winner declared for both series. The very racy ¼ mile track has seen some great ARCA/CRA Super Series events in the past featuring tight side by side racing. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Carson Hocevar won the ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Flat Rock Speedway in 2021, Brian Bergakker got his first ever CRA win at that event in 2019, Brian Campbell won in 2017, Hunter Baize took the win in 2015, Travis Braden was the victor in 2014 and Scott Hantz won in 2013 and 2012, the first two years the series raced at Flat Rock.

Lee looks to maintain his point lead in the ARCA Moran Chevrolet standings, with his strong start at Flat Rock including 2 wins and 2 seconds.  Conner Zbozien, Chris Benson, Paul Pelletier and George Rangel are trailing Lee in the chase for the 2022 track title.

There is no advance ticket sale.  All tickets go on sale at 3:30 p.m. on race day at the track.  The front gates and practice also begin at 3:30, followed by qualifying.  Race time is 7 p.m.

The entry lists for both groups and more information is now posted at www.flatrockspeedway.com.  Go to the right margin and click on the race date.
