LEE MAKES IT 2 IN A ROW AT FLAT ROCK

May 14, 2022:  Defending track champ Eric Lee powered by leader Chris Benson on lap 27 and zipped to his second win in a row in the 50 lap ARCA Outlaw Super Late Model feature Saturday afternoon at Flat Rock Speedway.

The entire race card was completed despite threatening weather surrounding the track for a better part of the day.  Jack Goocher of Jack’s Bicycles of Monroe, the sponsor of the Scout Day and Autograph Day, presented the trophies to the winners in the Monroe Asphalt Winner’s Circle.

Lee and Benson traded the lead 5 times starting on lap 10.  Paul Pelletier led the first 7 laps, until Chris steamed by on the outside lane to take the point.  Lee followed in his tracks, moving from 5th spot to second by lap 14.  Benson held the top spot laps 13-26 and Lee grabbed the lead on a restart on lap 26 on his way to the win.  Benson was second, Pelletier held third, Ken Schrader was fourth (in Dennis Strickland’s #90) and Conner Zbozien was fifth.  George Rangel, Dennis Rederstorf, Dan Trosen Jr., Steve Hawes and Joshua Spindleman completed the top ten.

Ron Allen captured the lead on lap 20 on his way to victory in the 25 lap ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock A Main contest.  Doug Litogot led the first 14 laps, with Rob Moore Jr. taking over on lap 15.  Moore dropped fluid on the track on lap 19, bringing out the red flag for a lengthy cleanup.  Arnold Kirsch was now the leader and gave Allen a battle for the win, working strong on the inside lane.  Allen held on for the win, Jeff Metdepenningen snuck by a couple cars in the final 2 laps to take second, Kirsch was third, Landon Schuster fourth and Litogot fifth, followed by Ken Schrader (in Rob Moore’s #82), Johnny Rangel, Greg Studt, Jeremy Vanderhoof and Rob Randa.

Taylor Papineau led every lap to score the victory in the 15 lap B Main over Bob Stewart, Chuck Pankow, Jeremy Cronenwett, Ian Jezylo, Mike Miller and Rich Abel.

The 20 lap ARCA R & M Recycling Figure 8 feature saw Jeremy Vanderhoof withstand the charge of Billy Earley to earn the win.  Third was Dennis Whisman Jr., fourth went to Jakob Lee and fifth was Robbie Loving, followed by Dave Lambert, Eugene Worden, Stephanie Bradley and Janelle Cummings.
