ROB MOORE JR. SCORES HUGE CORRIGAN RACE FUELS 100 WIN

Flat Rock, MI-June 12, 2021:  Rob Moore Jr. snuck under race leader Paul Pelletier and Max Fair in the final 2 laps to grab the thrilling win in the Corrigan Race Fuels 100 for the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway.

Race fans saw 400 laps of feature racing on the ¼ mile paved oval for the Corrigan Race Fuels 400 on a very warm and humid evening.  Rob’s uncle, Tim Moore, captured the 25 lap B Main, Matt Kemp took the win in the 25 lap Steve Martin Memorial for the MCR Dwarf Cars and Kyle Metdepenningen scored the victory in the 250 lap The Vault Enduro race.

An outstanding field of 38 Street Stocks were on the grounds for their biggest race of the season at the track.  Current point leader Greg Studt topped the qualifying list with a lap of 13:298.  Tim Moore was the top qualifier for the B field at 13:615.

The 8-car inversion put Paul Pelletier and rookie Lance Lipasek on the front row. Paul motored into the lead and led the field.  Only 3 yellow flags slowed the action of the 100 lap contest.  At lap 50, the top 5 were Pelletier, Max Fair, Rob Moore Jr., Jeff Metdepenningen and Studt.  A lap 73 yellow bunched the field for the final 27 circuits.  Pelletier would stretch his lead to several car lengths, then Fair and Moore Jr. would close the gap several laps later.

With 4 laps to go, the top trio encountered lapped traffic, setting up an exciting battle for the lead.  Fair continued to work the outside lane, Pelletier hung on in the bottom groove and Moore was right there.  Fair did nose into the top spot for a lap.  On the final 2 laps, Rob got to the bottom of the track, gained the lead and held on for the big win and the $1000 top prize.  Fair, Pelletier, David Liaeff and Metdepenningen rounded out the top 5.  Trevor Farmer came from 19th to take sixth, Nick Shanks was seventh, with Studt, Jeremy Vanderhoof and Kyle Worley completing the top 10.

Three different drivers led the 25 lap B Main for the DTS Street Stocks.  Chris Diovardi took the lead at the green, with Wilburn Parks taking control on lap 4.  Tim Moore worked his way to the lead on lap 12, holding off the challenge of Lonnie York to take the victory.  Craig Lange, Rob Liedel, Diovardi, Rich Abel, Robert Stewart, Mike Miller, David Hanna and Ian Jeyzlo completed the top 10 in the finishing order.

Matt Kemp cruised to the win in the 25 lap Steve Martin Memorial for the MCR Dwarf Cars.  The touring group made their annual trip to Flat Rock Saturday.  Troy Hoffman closed the gap in the closing laps but settled for second spot.  Logan Mears, Mike Occhipinti, Tristan Francis, Mike McManman, Jeff Slayton, Dave Wylie, Brandon Collins and Jody Johnson were next in line at the finish.  Hoffman set quick time at 12:657.  Hoffman and Kemp took the heat wins.

The evening was capped off with The Vault Antiques and Treasures 250 lap Enduro race.  Dale Buttrey took the lead on the green until Tadek Stadniczuk grabbed the point just after the lap 30 mark.  Tadek built up a good lead and finally was challenged by Kyle Metdepennigen as the duo locked up in a battle beginning at lap 190.  Kyle jumped into the number 1 spot on lap 214 and zipped to the win.  Stadniczuk grabbed second spot, Herbie King was third, Nathan Sprotberry fourth and Robb Remick fifth, followed by Buttrey, Brian Ringger, Steven Smith, Ed Case and James Rae.  Rayce Metdepenningen set fast time at 13:824.

Saturday, June 19 is the date for the VanDoorn Racing Development 125 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Model Series.  NASCAR Truck Series competitor Carson Hocevar leads the list of entries.  Several local drivers are also entered for the event, which was originally set for 100 laps and now moves to a 125-lap event.

Justin Schroeder, Jeff Vrsek, Michael Simko, Ethan Stadniczuk and Eric Lee are all entered for the 125-lap event.  Schroeder and Vrsek have notched Outlaw Super Late Model wins at Flat Rock already this season.
