FEBRUARY, 2021 FLAT ROCK/TOLEDO SPEEDWAY BULLETIN (2-5-21)

FEBRUARY, 2021 FLAT ROCK/TOLEDO SPEEDWAY BULLETIN (2-5-21)

Well, here we go….we will continue to plan out things for our 2021 schedules; we expect to be under some group of restrictions at both tracks when we open…time will tell.

We ask that everyone keeps in mind that the schedules are tentative based on the restrictions from both the states of Michigan and Ohio and the local health departments that may be in place at that time.  We will follow the orders set forth and remain in compliance at both venues.

Below are some of the things to catch you up on as we prepare for the new season.

FLAT ROCK’S FIRST 3 SATURDAY RACES WILL HAVE A 4 P.M. RACE TIME.  Taking into account the weather issues at this time of the season, among other things, the Saturday, May 1, May 8 and May 15 shows will start at 4 p.m.  We will have the time schedule for these 3 races and our weekly Saturday shows in the coming weeks…stay tuned.  Yes, we stole this idea from Berlin.

The Flat Rock pad rental form is now posted on the track’s home page under Racer Info. tab. Save $$ and get a free pit pass to one of the pre-season practices if paid by April 1.  If you paid for your pad in 2020, we have transferred that to 2021, unless you contact us and tell us otherwise.  **We have already seen an increase in interest in pad rentals for this year…be sure to get the form and payment in as soon as possible!  New pad rentals will be on a first-come, first-serve basis as available.

The 2021 Enduro entry blank is also now posted under the Racer Info. tab.

*The 2021 W-9 form is also posted; you MUST fill this out and have on file with us prior to your first race and going to the payoff window.  Take the time to do this now.

The 2021 ARCA license applications are available on each of the track’s webpages and is located under the Racer Info tab.  The COVID waiver and release form, along with the HIPPA form, are also required to be completed when applying for the license.  They will also be located under the Racer Info tab.  License apps will be processed and sent out in early March.  Again, take care of this paperwork item now and avoid waiting in line at pit sign-in at the practices or the first race.

Car numbers:  If you are new to the tracks or need a different number, call Scott to get one assigned to you.

The 1099’s from the Glass City 200 were mailed out last week.

2021 Rules:  We will post the 2021 rule book by March 1.  There is only 1 change from 2020, and that is for the Late Models:  The 30-degree angle measurement for the C pillar will be eliminated.

**JUST A REMINDER as noted in the 2020 rule changes; quiet your car down!  DECIBEL LIMIT IS 97 DB….quiet your cars down!  Your family members and friends, and our fans, are up in the stands..think about that.  And now in effect for 2021…..

14 and 15 year old new drivers:  If you fall into this category, please remember there are eligibility requirements to meet prior to competing and receiving an ARCA license:  In-person meeting with track officials; driver background/resume provided; private on-track test session with track official observer(s); all membership forms, minor’s release completed and on file with the office.  Call if you have questions on this matter.

THANK YOU to Moran Chevrolet (Flat Rock Outlaw Super Late Models), DTS Drive Train Specialists (Street Stocks) and The Vault Antiques and Treasures (Enduro and Factory Stocks).  Additional announcements will be made as secured.

Corrigan Race Fuels (Flat Rock) and Bazell Race Fuels (Toledo) will continue their support and sponsorship, with Sunoco race fuel the official fuel.   Pricing will be announced when secured, as will details of the sponsorships.

**2021 SCHEDULES are posted.  You can find them under the schedule/results tab, under the Racer info tab (print version here) and on the right margin of the home pages of both of the track websites.

Pre-season practices:  Flat Rock:  Saturday, April 17 and Saturday, April 24; Toledo’s pre-season practice is Wednesday, May 12.  Check the schedules for the times.

**The 2 tracks will flip nights for 2 weekends; Flat Rock will run Fridays, May 21 and July 16; Toledo will run Saturdays, May 22 and July 17 is the Anniversary Show…more details soon!

More information in the next bulletin…Stay warm, stay safe, stay healthy.
