BANDOLERO DRIVER JOEL SMITH CAPTURES EAST NATIONALS VICTORY

You’ve all seen Joel Smith at Flat Rock Speedway in his #24 Bandolero car.  Joel, at just 10 years old, ventured to Charlotte Motor Speedway recently and won the Bandolero East Nationals.

A resident of Temperance, MI, Joel raced at Corrigan Oil (Spartan) Speedway and Flat Rock.  With both tracks shut down this season due to the COVID-19 virus state mandates, Joel traveled to North Carolina with his Dad, Jake, Mom, Laura and his younger brother to continue his racing career.

Smith topped the best Bandolero drivers in the country.  The family made the trip south every week for 8 weeks.  Joel also won Round #10 in the Summer Shootout and finished 3rd overall in the Shootout point standings.  This was Joel’s first time in competition down south.

He will also be crowned the 2020 INEX State of Michigan Bandit Champion soon.

Congratulations to Joel and his family on this tremendous accomplishment.  Joel notes he loves racing at Flat Rock Speedway and will be back at the track in 2021.
