2020 FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY SEASON CANCELLED; TOLEDO DECISION BY AUGUST 24

2020 FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY SEASON CANCELLED; TOLEDO DECISION BY AUGUST 24

August 18, 2020: Putting a period on what has been a very challenging year for us all, we have arrived at the difficult decision to forgo our efforts to race at Flat Rock Speedway in 2020. With no relief from the restrictions in place regarding mass gatherings and our dependence on selling tickets to race fans to make it financially viable to race, we will now focus our efforts on the 2021 racing season.

A decision will be made regarding the remainder of the Toledo Speedway schedule by August 24.

From the onset of this pandemic, our priority has been working closely and directly with Ash Township, the Monroe County Health Department, the Monroe County Sheriff Department and State of Michigan officials to follow guidelines established to keep our fans, race teams, sponsors and officials safe and healthy. We are very appreciative of the support, patience and understanding displayed by so many of you throughout this time.

John Marcum Promotions has operated Flat Rock Speedway since 1962, and we have owned the track outright since 1982. The support and participation of the fans, race teams, families, officials and sponsors are what has made our efforts successful and worthwhile. One lost season in 2020 will not define us, and we look forward to resuming the great racing tradition at Flat Rock Speedway in 2021 and beyond. Stay positive about 2021, stay safe and healthy and thank you.
