FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO SPEEDWAY UPDATE---JULY 2, 2020

FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO SPEEDWAY UPDATE---JULY 2, 2020

Flat Rock:  On June 30, the Governor of the State of Michigan announced that the area which includes Flat Rock Speedway would remain in Phase 4, which allows for a maximum gathering of 100.  The Monroe County Health Department has directed us to follow the Governor’s guidelines and orders.

With that announcement, the Saturday, July 11 and Saturday, July 18 events at Flat Rock Speedway have been cancelled.

IF we get to Phase 5, we will provide as much notice as possible prior to the first race date, and we will schedule practice days prior to the first race.

We have been in contact on a weekly basis with the Monroe County Health Department and have submitted a plan to the Health Department for re-opening the track.  The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Ash Township have also been contacted regarding the re-opening Flat Rock Speedway.

Toledo:  Today, July 2, The Lucas County Health Department has informed us that per the Ohio Department of Health, no spectators are permitted at speedways in the State of Ohio at the present time; hence, we cannot open with spectators.  A re-opening plan has been submitted to the Lucas County Health officials.  We are also remaining in contact with both the city of Toledo and the Lucas County Board of Commissioners.

Based on this information and directive, the Friday, July 17 Toledo event has been cancelled.

It is not financially feasible for us to conduct racing events until we are permitted to have at least a reasonable percentage of our overall seating capacity in attendance.

If we are given clearance to begin racing, we will revise both schedules as needed and post them as soon as possible.

We are aware there are other tracks in operation; we are following both the state and local orders that have been communicated directly to us at this point at both tracks.

Please check back with us at our websites for further updates.
