HARRIS MECHANICAL SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY AT FLAT ROCK

Flat Rock, MI: One of the most exciting point races in recent memory will be decided Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway as the Harris Mechanical Season Championships take place.   There are 4 track titles that are up for grabs Saturday, and the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Model championship has 2 drivers tied for the top spot heading into the weekend. Frank Jiovani and Craig Everage are even in the battle for that crown.

Jiovani has 1 win to his credit this season and will steer the Orange #45 machine in the quest for his first Late Model belt at Flat Rock. Frank is a former Street Stock champion, taking that title in 2012. Jiovani also has 2 ARCA Late Model Gold Cup championships as part of his resume. Everage has made the trip from Angola, IN to Flat Rock for the past few years and is also looking for his first Flat Rock Late Model belt. The #101 machine scored his first win of 2019 last Saturday night. Paul Pelletier, Jeff Vrsek, Steve Cronenwett Jr. and Hayden Sprague all have a mathematical shot at the championship.

While that battle contains a great deal of excitement, the level of adrenalin is equal for the remaining 3 titles to be decided Saturday night. Looking for his first championship is second-generation driver Dennis Whisman Jr. in the ARCA Victory Lane Quick Oil Change Figure 8 division. Dennis has battled Dave Lambert and his father, Dennis Sr., much of the season. That trio all have a shot at the 2019 track title.

The DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock A Main crown has Greg Studt in command over Rob Randa as that duo hit the track Saturday night. Studt is looking for his second A Main championship and needs to be solid in his run to hold off Randa.

Ian Jezylo has locked up the Street Stock B Main title, his second in a row. His son Adam, and LJ Farmer, are tied for the runner-up spot with 1 point race to go.

The Saturday, August 24 action at Flat Rock Speedway has the pit gates opening at 3, practice begins at 4:30, the front gates open at 4:30, qualifying follows and show time is 7 p.m.
