FIGURE 8’S GO RETRO SATURDAY NIGHT AT “THE ROCK”
It’s a step back in time to the 1970’s and 80’s at Flat Rock Speedway! Actually, we can go back to the beginning of Figure 8 racing at the track in 1961. The current ARCA Victory Lane Quick Oil Change Figure 8 division will go “Retro” Saturday night, June 1, with practice, qualifying, a 4 car dash and heats on the oval, while the Feature event takes place on the Figure 8 track!
Many of today’s current Figure 8 drivers have limited to no experience on the oval at Flat Rock, which sets up a night of great action for the class. The Figure 8 daredevils will be joined by the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models and ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock division this Saturday, June 1 for the UAW Local 3000 Night promotion.
The Street Stock class went “Retro” May 25 with dashes and pursuit races, which resulted in great action and entertainment! More of that is expected Saturday night as the “Motor City Madmen” of the Figure 8 division hit the track.
The front gates and ticket office open at 4:30, with practice also at 4:30. Show time is 7 p.m. The pit gate for race teams will open at 3 p.m.
