FLAT ROCK KICKS OFF 2019 SEASON; PRACTICE BEGINS!

Flat Rock, MI—April 13, 2019: A total of 38 race teams took advantage of the first of 3 pre-season practices Saturday afternoon at Flat Rock Speedway. A variety of race cars, ranging from ARCA Late Models, Figure 8’s, Street Stocks, Enduro/Factory Stocks, Late Model Sportsman, Bandoleros and a CRA/Jeg’s Late Model and a pair of ICAR Allstar Modifieds took laps in the 5 hour practice session.

Defending track champs Billy Earley (Figure 8) and Ian Jezylo (Street Stock B Main) shook down their machines. Street Stock A Main champ Grant Hedges concentrated on track time behind the wheel of Jim Froling’s #46 Late Model Sportsman car, while Toledo Factory Stock champ Ethan Stadniczuk was at the wheel of a Street Stock as he moves up the ranks in 2019.

The next practice session at “The Rock” is set for Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pit gates will open at 9 a.m. The final pre-season practice is set for Wednesday, May 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The April 27 practice should be loaded with race cars as the CRA/Jeg’s Late Model tour and the ICAR Allstar Modifieds are in town for a special Sunday afternoon race at Flat Rock April 28. The track is being leased to Motor City Racing Promotions for the Motor City 200. The CRA cars will run 100 laps, the Modifieds 75 laps and a 25 lap feature for the newly-created CRA Jr. Late Models is also on the schedule, featuring youth from 10-15 years old. Race time is 2 p.m.

Flat Rock’s Saturday night Jack’s Bicycle Season Opener is set for May 4. The ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, the Victory Lane Quick Oil Change Figure 8’s and the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks will all be in action. Race time is 7 p.m.
