CORRIGAN RACE FUELS 100 AT FLAT ROCK SATURDAY

(Flat Rock, MI—July 31, 2018): One of the most competitive weekly classes in the state of Michigan is preparing for its biggest race of the season this Saturday, August 4 at Flat Rock Speedway! The Corrigan Race Fuels 100 lap race for the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks hits “The Rock” for the all-green flag event.

A 30 lap B Main for the Street Stocks and a full race card for the ARCA Victory Lane Quick Oil Change Figure 8’s is also on the schedule. The new Bandolero class and exhibition races for the TKC Go-Karts will also take place Saturday evening.

To date, there has not been a repeat winner in the 8 races for the A Main Street Stock features in 2018. The class has been averaging 27-30 cars per night, and competition is very, very strong in both the A and B Main classes, determined by qualifying times.

Defending track champ and current point leader Ray Morneau Jr. of Windsor, Ontario Canada took the opening night event back in April. Rob Randa, Grant Hedges, Rob Moore Jr., Jeff Metdepenningen, Craig Lange, Jim Froling and Scot Bunge are the other A Main winners this season.

Current B Main point leader Ian Jezylo is looking for his first feature win of 2018. B Main winners include Anthony Camilli (3), Wilburn Parks (2), Jerry Farmer, James Pankow and rookie Dillon Zalenski.

The 100 lap battle will award $1000 to the winner of the annual event at the ¼ mile paved oval. Greg Studt is the defending race winner and Rich Abel notched the B Main win last season.

Saturday’s race will be 100 laps of green flag racing, with double-file restarts as usual should the yellow flag appear. The pit crews will be staged in the infield on the Figure 8 track for pit stops if needed.

Lap money is now available for the 100 lap classic and the 30 lap B Main. Lap sponsorship is just $5 per lap and goes to the leader of each lap of each Street Stock feature. Please call 734-782-2480 or 419-727-1100 to sponsor laps! Public address mentions and a listing in the souvenir program are included with the sponsorship. Lap sponsors include Budget Tire (10 laps), Rich Fidh (10 laps), Great Lakes Frequencies.com (4 laps) and Bob’s Car Wash (5 laps). To become a lap sponsor, call the track at 734-782-2480.

The pit gates open at 2:30, practice begins at 4, time trials are set for 5:45 and racing begins at 7 p.m. this Saturday.

I think street stocks should start where they qualify this week, we have 100 laps if the fast qualifier can lead all 100 laps he should be rewarded the win.
