2018 FLAT ROCK, TOLEDO OPENING DATES SET

2018 FLAT ROCK, TOLEDO OPENING DATES SET

October 25, 2017: The opening race dates for the 2018 racing season for both Flat Rock, MI and Toledo, OH Speedways have been set. The 2 paved short tracks, just 30 miles apart, are both sanctioned by the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA).

Toledo’s ½ mile high-banked oval kicks off the new season on Saturday, April 14, featuring the Spring 200. A pair of 100 lap contests for the stock-bodied ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models powered by Jeg’s and the ARCA outlaw-bodied Late Models take center stage for the 3 p.m. contest. An optional practice session is set for Friday, April 13, and the race rain date is Sunday, April 15.

Flat Rock Speedway begins its 66th consecutive season of racing Saturday night, April 28. The track’s 3 weekly divisions, the same classes that have been featured at the ¼ mile paved track since 1977-the ARCA Late Models, Figure 8’s and Street Stocks will provide the action and entertainment again in 2018.

The recently-announced addition of eight (8) races for the Bandolero division will also be a part of next year’s schedule. The class, using purpose-built race cars for kids ages 8-14, recently held its first informational meeting. Flat Rock will work with the Spartan, MI Speedway, the home track for the Bandoleros in the state of Michigan, to build the class next season. Interested parties can contact the track at 734-782-2480.

Pre-season practice dates have also been established for Flat Rock; Saturday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesday, April 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The entire schedule for both tracks will be released prior to the upcoming holiday season.
