FLAT ROCK STREET STOCK TITLES ON THE LINE SATURDAY

Flat Rock, MI—August 24, 2017: The ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks will crown the 2017 track champions in the Harris Mechanical Season Championships this Saturday night, August 26 at Flat Rock Speedway. Canadian youngster Ray Morneau Jr. and second-generation driver Adam Jezylo are the leaders in the A and B class, respectively. The Great Lakes Mini Cup Cars and the TKC Go-Kart Club will also be in action this weekend.

The 16 year-old Morneau leads defending champ Greg Studt by just 20 points with 1 race to go. Jeff Metdepenningen is 65 back, while Guy Fire is 4th and Grant Hedges fifth. Ray, who hails from Windsor, Ontario Canada, has been very consistent this season, with 1 win to his credit. He was the Rookie of the Year in 2016 and had 3 wins last season in an impressive first year. His orange #03 paint scheme is identical to that of his grandfather, Jack Monaghan, a standout Late Model driver in the 1970’s and 1980’s in Canada and Michigan.

The DTS Street Stock division has averaged nearly 30 cars per night at Flat Rock, and the speedway has a B Main point system in place. Adam Jezylo picked up his first-ever checkered flags in heat race action this season, but he, too, has been consistent and holds a 35 point edge over Wilburn Parks. Rich Abel trails by 60 markers, with Alan Kennedy and Justin Rodriguez rounding out the top 5 as the point season comes to a close.

Practice, qualifying, heat races and a 35 lap A Main and 25 lap B Main are on the slate for the Street Stock division Saturday night.

Practice begins at 5, time trials are at 6:15 and show time is 7 p.m. August 26. All tickets will go on sale race day at 5 p.m. There is no advance sale for this event.
