FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO SPEEDWAY JANUARY BULLETIN

This is our second winter bulletin of the season.  We will post one for each month through March.  The winter office for both tracks is at Toledo:  419-727-1100.

1099 forms: will be sent out soon.  If there are any changes to be made, please contact us as soon as possible at the Toledo office.

DTS Drive Train Specialists, R & M Recycling return as sponsors!  DTS will once again back the Flat Rock Street Stocks (see release on web page)  and several other events and we have just completed an agreement  with R & M Recycling, which will become the sponsor of the newly-created Silver Cup Series for the ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman class.  Check the website Friday for all the details!

DTS and R & M join Aramark Uniform Services (LM Sportsman), Moran Chevrolet (FR Late Models) and Royal Truck and Trailer (Late Model Gold Cup Series) as division sponsors for 2016.  Please be sure to thank them for their great support!  We hope to make more announcements in the coming weeks.

The DTS Modified Classic will be part of the Sunday afternoon, May 15 show at Toledo, which includes the Silver Cup race for the Late Model Sportsman and the ARCA Figure 8’s.  The Modifieds will run under the Sandusky Speedway rules. Details will be available in a few weeks.

Schedules: The Toledo schedule includes several Fridays, a couple Saturdays and 2-Sunday afternoon shows in May…Flat Rock will continue on Saturday nights from April 30-September 10.  We are working on a couple of “non-racing” type events for both track.  Both schedules are posted under the schedule button on the home pages.

The Factory Stock class will have 3 different types of races at Toledo in 2016; Oval, Figure 8 and Road Course race.  All will be point races.  **The Factory Stock and Enduro rules are the same for both classes, just as they were in 2015.  The ARCA Figure 8 division will have several events at Toledo in 2016.  There will not be a point system for the Figure 8’s at Toledo.  More details concerning these events will follow soon.  The X Car class has been dropped.

Other schedule notesFor ONE WEEKEND, August 12-13, Toledo and Flat Rock will flip race nights.  Friday, August 12, Flat Rock will run Figure 8’s, Street Stocks and a 250 lap Enduro race.  Saturday, August 13, Toledo will run a 100 lap Late Model Gold Cup race, a Late Model Sportsman race and the Figure 8’s.  The Factory Stock Road Course race has been moved to Friday, July 29.

The five dates for the 250 lap Enduro Series events are:  Saturday, May 14-FR; Saturday, June 18-FR; Friday, July 15-Toledo; Friday, August 12-Flat Rock and Saturday, September 10-Flat Rock

The 2016 membership forms are now up on the web pages and can be found under forms.  There is no increase in membership fees.

Schedules:  Toledo will open with a practice Saturday, April 2.  The first race is Saturday, April 16 with the 7-Up 200—ARCA/CRA Late Models and the ARCA Gold Cup Late Models.  Flat Rock opens with a practice Saturday, April 23 and the first race Saturday, April 30.

Sept. 17-Glass City 200.

Flat Rock special event dates:  Sat. June 4-SS 100; Sat. June 11-School Buses; Sat. June 25-Joy Fair Memorial 100, LM Gold Cup Series; Sat. July 2-LMSP Silver Cup; Sat. July 23-Moran Chevrolet Stan Yee Memorial 150 LM Gold Cup Series; Sat. Aug. 20-LM Season championship; Sat. Aug. 27-SS, F8 Season Championships, plus ARCA CRA Super Series 125; Sat. Sept. 3-School Bus race.

The Rusty Wallace Racing Experience, where you can ride in or drive a stock car, will also be at Flat Rock this season for 2 Sunday outings.  They will also have 2 at Toledo for the 2016 season.

Car numbers:  Any changes of car numbers—be sure to call us at the office, or, if you are switching classes.  Please remember the Enduro races have an entry fee and a separate car number list…we will do our best to work with everyone.

The date for the annual Racer’s Reunion and Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club meeting has a new date--Saturday, April 2 at the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille.  The Reunion will take place during the day with photos, memorabilia, etc. on display and plenty of bench racing!  At 6 p.m., the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club meeting will take place.  Admission to the reunion/fan club meeting is free and everyone is invited!  New to the day will be an open practice from Noon to 5. A vintage race car display is also in the works!   A steak roast, with salad and baked potato will also be available from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The bar will be open with its drink and food offerings.

If you are going to Daytona, it is advised to get your membership forms completed and into the office as soon as possible—avoid the lines!  Think spring—it’s not that far away!
