FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY THROWBACK THURSDAY

FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY THROWBACK THURSDAY

Harold Cook poses with his #21 machine at Flat Rock.  Cook began his career at Toledo and Flat Rock, running the #8 until switching to the #21.  Cook would post 24 wins at Flat Rock, good for 6th on the all-time Late Model win list.   Harold captured 2 track titles, in 1982 and 1985.  Harold’s 1982 season was a great one, as he also captured the Toledo track championship, to go along with his 1979 title and then the 1985 crown also.  He posted 6 wins at Toledo.

His sons, Terry and Jerry, both became champions during their racing careers.  Terry went on to compete in the NASCAR Truck Series and now serves as the Driver Coach and spotter for John Wes Townley’s ARCA and NASCAR Xfinity team for 2016.  Jerry has served as a mechanic for both Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart while working for Joe Gibbs Racing on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  He currently is employed by Stewart-Haas Racing as the car chief for Stewart.
