TOLEDO, FLAT ROCK FLIP NIGHTS FOR ONE WEEKEND IN AUGUST MINOR SCHEDULE CHANGES ALSO MADE

Toledo, Ohio—January 7, 2016:  Fans and race teams will notice the Friday-Saturday, August 12-13 race nights have been switched for Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways.  The one-time only trade will see Flat Rock host its weekly race card on Friday August 12, while Toledo goes into action Saturday, August 13.

“The goal for this one race weekend change is to allow more fans and race teams to get to Toledo on a Saturday night for the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Late Model Gold Cup championship race, which is tough to do for many on a Friday night,” noted Ron Drager, owner and Promoter of both tracks.

“The 2016 Toledo schedule has seen change, which needed to happen,” said Drager.  “As part of the changes, and for just this one weekend, we will run Flat Rock on Friday night and Toledo on Saturday.  We are not changing race nights for the year--It is just for this one August weekend.”

Flat Rock’s Friday, August 12 race program will feature a 250 lap Enduro race and weekly point races for both the ARCA Figure 8’s and ARCA Street Stocks.  The “Friday Night Special” will also be Kid’s Night, with all kids to age 12 being admitted free.  Each child will also receive a free hot dog.

Saturday, August 13 Toledo will play host to the Miller Lite 100 presented by Royal Truck and Trailer.  The 100 lap feature for the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup Series Late Models will be a combined event with the Main Event Late Model Series, the third season for this race.  The race will determine the 2016 Gold Cup champion.  The ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman will also be in action on the ½ mile paved oval.

Both race nights will have 7 p.m. starts.  The entire time schedule for both events will be announced at a later date.

Just a few minor changes have been made to the Toledo schedule that was released in December.  The open practice scheduled for Sunday, April 24 has been moved to Wednesday, May 11,  The April 16 Toledo season opener will now be known as the 7-Up 200, replacing the 7-Up Twin 100’s title.

Negotiations continue for several “non-racing” type events at both tracks and will be announced when details are finalized.
