ROYAL TRUCK AND TRAILER RETURNS TO BACK ARCA LATE MODEL GOLD CUP SERIES

Toledo, OH—January 4, 2016:  Royal Truck and Trailer Sales has agreed to return as the title sponsor of the ARCA Gold Cup Late Model race series for the upcoming season.  A total of six (6) events will comprise the Gold Cup schedule for 2016.

Royal will also serve as a presenting sponsor for the Toledo Speedway season opener April 16 and again August 13, both of which are Gold Cup events at the fast ½ mile paved oval.  The business will also host the popular Triple 50’s and Fireworks show at Flat Rock, MI Speedway Saturday, July 9.

Royal Truck and Trailer began in Dearborn, MI, founded by the late Roy Bumgardner.  Roy’s son, Carl, now operates the Michigan-based business with his son, Ken.  Royal Truck and Trailer has locations in Dearborn, Wixom and Warren, MI. Royal has been involved with both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways since the 1960’s, sponsoring and owning championship race cars and eventually serving as a race sponsor as well.

Toledo Speedway is the site of the first ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup race, set for Saturday afternoon, April 16 at the ½ mile paved oval.  The outlaw-bodied Late Models will compete in a 100 lap feature as one half of the 7-Up Twin 100’s presented by Royal Truck and Trailer.  The ARCA/CRA Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour stock-bodied Late Models will comprise the other half of this event, which kicks off Toledo’s new schedule, and also unofficially opens the pavement Late Model season in the area.

The combination Royal Gold Cup/Main Event race at Sandusky, OH Speedway is set for Saturday night, June 18, with the prestigious Joy Fair Memorial 100 Saturday, June 25 at Flat Rock Speedway.  It’s back to Toledo Friday night, July 8 for another 100 lap contest, race number 4 of the Series.

One of the most competitive Late Model events in the Midwest is set for Saturday, July 23 at Flat Rock, as the Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150 hits the ¼ mile paved oval.  The Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup Series concludes with race number 6, back at Toledo for the Miller Lite 100 presented by Royal Truck and Trailer, which is a combination event with the Main Event Late Model Series Saturday, August 13.

A point fund for the 6 events has been set, with $1000 to the champion.  Second through fifth spots will receive $600, $400, $300 and $200, respectively, at the track’s annual awards banquet.

“We are very grateful to Carl, Ken and the staff of Royal Truck and Trailer for returning as the Gold Cup Series sponsor,” noted Ron Drager, owner and promoter of both tracks and the President of ARCA.  “The Royal name is very familiar to the local short tracks and we are pleased to have their company name associated with the Gold Cup Series again for the 2016 racing season.”
