TOLEDO RACER’S REUNION, FAN CLUB MEETING MOVES TO APRIL 2;

Toledo, Ohio—December 8, 2015: The Toledo Speedway 13th annual Racer’s Reunion and Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club Meeting has a new date for 2016. The day-long event will be moved to Saturday, April 2 and take place at the Speedway Bar/Grille banquet room, located on the grounds of the track.

With the new date comes more activity, as an open-practice for race cars will also be held. A Vintage Race Car display is also being planned, with an on-track session for the cars of yesterday in the works. The NASCAR Truck race from Martinsville will be shown on the bar TV’s, while a Steak Roast is also on the calendar of events for the big day.

The Reunion features photos and memorabilia from tracks across the country, with plenty of bench racing on the docket as former racers gather for this annual day. The reunion will take place from Noon to 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club, in its 51st year of operation, will conduct their monthly meeting in the banquet hall.

The track will also host an open practice session for all race cars from Noon to 5 p.m. With cooperation from Mother Nature, a variety of race cars is expected, as the new season kicks off just several weeks later. The spectator grandstands will be open free of charge to watch practice.

A cook-your-own steak roast is being planned for the entire day. A baked potato and salad will be included with the steak, hot off the grill. The bar/grille will also have its usual offerings of drinks and sandwiches available.

Should the practice be sidelined by weather, the session will be re-set for the next day, Sunday, April 3.

Additional details will be announced leading up to the date of the Reunion.
