2015 FLAT ROCK, TOLEDO SCHEDULES RELEASED

Toledo, Ohio—December 22, 2014:  The 2015 racing schedules for both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways have been released by track management of the two ARCA-sanctioned short tracks.

Toledo Speedway kicks off the new season with a pair of special events that each have a different appeal to short track fans—Saturday, April 11 the unofficial opening of Late Model racing in the Midwest begins with the 7-Up Twin 100’s, featuring the stock-bodied ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by Jeg’s Late Models and the ARCA Midwest Tour Late Models joining forces for a 100 lap feature. The other portion of the event will see the ARCA outlaw-bodied Gold Cup Late Model Series battle in their 100 lap main event.  An open practice will be held on Friday, with racing slated for a 3 p.m. start Saturday afternoon.

The next race on the Toledo schedule is an event that is returning to the Glass City oval for the first time since 2012.  Friday evening, May 1, the USAC Silver Crown Series returns for the Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness Rollie Beale Classic, a 100 lap feature race on the lightning-fast ½ mile paved oval.  The all open-wheel show will also see the USAC HPD Midgets and the Northwest Ohio ¼ Midgets in action on the ¼ mile paved oval.  The event is the season opener for the Silver Crown Cars and will pay tribute to the late Rollie Beale, a Toledo resident and a former USAC Sprint Car champion.

Toledo’s Friday night opener for the local weekly racing is set for Friday, May 8, as the ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman, R & M Recycling X Cars and the Figure 8’s hit the track for the first time in 2015.  The speedway will host Scout Night and College ID Night that evening.  All scouts in uniform will be admitted free as well as all college students with a valid college ID.  The Sportsman division of last season will now carry the new title of Late Model Sportsman.

30 miles north of the city of Toledo, Flat Rock, MI Speedway opens the gates for its 62nd consecutive season Saturday, April 25 for the Bob’s Car Wash Season Opener.  The track’s ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks and the famed Figure 8 division will hit the ¼ mile oval and Figure 8 course for the new season.

Both tracks have a variety of touring series races, promotions and special events planned for the upcoming season, in addition to the weekly racing dates.
