MONROE NEWS TO SPONSOR FLAT ROCK TRIPLE 50’S-FIREWORKS SHOW

(Flat Rock, MI—July 7, 2014):  The Monroe News will join forces with Flat Rock Speedway to promote the annual Triple 50’s and Fireworks spectacular Saturday, July 12.  Monroe County’s daily newspaper will feature the speedway through its newspaper and social media outlets prior to the event at the ¼ mile paved oval.

Since 1981, Flat Rock Speedway has featured a fireworks show the week after the traditional July 4th weekend.  The popular format of racing will see each of the track’s 3 weekly classes-the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, Praxair Figure 8’s and DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks complete in 50 lap main events!  No heat races will be run for the July 12 race date.

Upon completion of the race card, the fabulous and famous Flat Rock Speedway fireworks display will go airborne with a front row seat for fans in the grandstands and those seated on the spectator hill.

“For 33 years, we have enjoyed presenting a fireworks show with our racing events at Flat Rock Speedway, and we will now mark our 34th season of this event next Saturday night,” noted Ron Drager, owner and promoter of the track.  “The combination of our great racing action and the fireworks show makes for a great evening of cost-affordable family entertainment.  We are grateful for the assistance of the Monroe News to promote this fun event July 12.”

The NASH-FM 93.1 Street team will also be on hand to greet race fans prior to the racing action.

Parking is FREE on the track grounds.  Admission for this event is $16 for adults, children 6-12 are just $3 each and under 6 are admitted free.  All seating is general admission for the show and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Concession items are reasonably-priced.  No coolers, cans or bottles are permitted in the main grandstand or on the spectator hill.  Fans may bring blankets and lawn chairs for the hill seating area.

ALL tickets go on sale Saturday, July 12, race day, at 4 p.m.  Race car practice also begins at 4, time trials are set for 5:30 and racing gets the green flag for the Monroe News Triple 50’s and Fireworks show at 7 p.m.

The track phone number is 734-782-2480.  Flat Rock Speedway is located on Telegraph Road, 1 mile south of Flat Rock and just 5 minutes from I-75 or I-275.
