30 ENTRIES FOR JOY FAIR MEMORIAL! FAIR JR., BOZELL AND MORE ENTER!
(Flat Rock, Michigan—May 23, 2014): For pavement short track Late Model fans, the fun and excitement is about to start! A total of 30 pre-entries have been received to date for Saturday’s Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 at Flat Rock Speedway.
The latest additions to the list include 2012 Fair Memorial Harold Fair Jr.(no relation to Joy Fair), 2013 Stan Yee Memorial 150 winner Phil Bozell, Flat Rock regulars Derrick Sheppard, Craig Everage, Chris Benson, Scott Pemberton and Brad Turner, along with veteran Michael Simko.
Lap money is being sold for just $5 per lap for the 100 lap contest Saturday night. To become a lap sponsor, call 734-782-2480 or 419-727-1100 today! A listing of the sponsors will be inserted into the souvenir program and public address mentions are also included.
The 100 lap contest, race number 1 of the 5-race Discount Tire Gold Cup Series, will award the winner $2000. The race pays $500 to start for the 24 car field. If there are 32 cars or more, a 25 lap B Main will be run, with $500 to win posted for this race. Practice, time trials, last-chance race(s) and the possible B Main will make up the race card. DTS Drive Train Specialists of Warren, MI will award a $100 bonus to the fastest qualifier for all five (5) of the Discount Tire Gold Cup events in 2014.
The ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock class will also be in action with a full race program for the Saturday, May 24 event. The pit gates open at 1:30, practice begins at 3, the front gate opens at 3, time trials are at 5 and racing begins at 7 p.m. A rain date of Sunday, May 25 at 3 p.m. has been established.
