ARCA TRUCK 100, EXTRA LAPS FOR FIGURE 8’S, STREET STOCKS AT FLAT ROCK
(Toledo, Ohio-May 6, 2014): The ARCA Truck Series will make their annual stop at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday, May 10 for the UAW Local 3000 Night festivities. The Trucks will battle in a 100 lap feature contest, while the track’s weekly ARCA Praxair Figure 8 class will run a 30 lap feature and the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks will go at it for 40 laps on the ¼ mile paved oval.
The Flat Rock date will open the 2014 ARCA Truck season. Local drivers Jeff Myers Jr. of Temperance, MI and Brad Yunker of Maumee, OH are two of the early entrants for the 100 lap UAW Local 3000 race.
Both the Figure 8’s and Street Stocks will battle in their first extra-distance races of the new season this Saturday night. Robbie Loving and Dennis Whisman each have scored victories in the Praxair Figure 8 wars at “The Rock”, while Rob Moore and Corey Duane captured the first two DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock contests. The Figure 8 feature has been extended to 30 laps this weekend, while the Street Stock race will go 40 circuits.
Tickets will go on sale at the track on race day at 3 p.m. Practice begins at 3, time trials are set for 5:15 and racing begins at 7 p.m. The pit gate will open at 1 p.m. for the Truck teams and 2 p.m. for the Figure 8 and Street Stock teams.
