Flat Rock's Moran Chevy/Stan Yee Memorial Moved to July 26

Enduro, Rollover Contest, Race Car Bowling, 4 Cylinders this Saturday

Flat Rock, MI (6-30-2008)-- For the second week in a row, heavy rains washed out Flat Rock Speedway’s biggest race of the year, the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 for the ARCA Late Models. Track officials have moved the event to Saturday evening, July 26. The rest of the 2008 schedule remains unchanged at this time.

Looking at the next 3 scheduled Saturday night shows, Flat Rock management made the decision not to alter these trio of events. “Many of our weekly race teams make other plans for the July 4 holiday weekend, and we did not want to interfere with a vacation that may have been planned,” stated Scott Schultz, General Manager of the track. “The Miller Lite Triple 50’s and Fireworks show is set for July 12, and that has been a great event for us for over 10 years. And the rain date for that event is July 19, so we’re back to the July 26 date for the 150 lap Late Model contest. We moved the 150 to June this year in hopes of creating more interest, and we are pretty confident that we succeeded with that idea. But now, we’re right back to where we were in 2007. We’ve dodged most of the nasty weather at Flat Rock this season, but the last 2 Saturdays have been unreal. We’ve never seen that much rain and standing water at the track in 15 years as we had this past Saturday.”
