Flat Rock Speedway to Host Pepsi-Autism Speaks 250 Enduro

FLAT ROCK, MI (5-16-08)--Flat Rock Speedway and Pepsi-Cola have teamed up with Autism Speaks to present the Pepsi-Autism Speaks 250 lap Enduro race Sunday afternoon, May 25 at the track. The ARCA David's Jewelry 4 Cylinders will also be in action. Race time is 1 p.m.

Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of the growing autism epidemic in this country.  Funds are being raised nationwide for research into the causes, prevention, treatments and hopefully the cure for autism.  1 in 150 children born today are affected with some form of autism.

The local SE Michigan chapter is conducting a pre-race ticket sale to the May 25 event at Flat Rock, with all pre-race ticket proceeds going to Autism Speaks. 

The Autism SE Michigan Chapter will have several items for sale at their information booth to benefit local groups and for research.  They will also present trophies and conduct pace car rides for children afflicted with the disease.

The day of racing at Flat Rock Speedway will see practice at noon, the 4 Cylinder feature at 1 p.m., followed by the Pepsi Cola-Autism Speaks 250 lap Enduro race.  The Enduro event pays $1000 to the winner, which begins from a standing start, lined up 3-wide!
