Fans Flock to "The Rock" For Fun
FLAT ROCK, MI (6-14-2008)-- They arrived late, but they arrived! A huge crowd piled into Flat Rock Speedway for the Marco’s Pizza School Bus Figure 8 races on a beautiful Saturday evening. SPEED Channel’s Ray Dunlap was victorious in the Bus event, while Levi Rouster, Eric Huston and Ray McClure also posted victories. The SPEED Channel crew of Phil Parsons, Krista Voda and Adam Alexander were on hand to greet the fans and cheer on Dunlap and Rick Allen, who took a run in a Factory Stock.

Benson Grabs First-Ever Win at Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK, MI (6-7-2008)-- WOMC Radio and Seyfert’s Snacks teamed up for Kids Night and Autograph Night at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday. A good crowd and over 500 kids were treated to an exciting and entertaining night of racing. Each kid received a free hot dog, chips and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Pepsi and Seyfert’s. Chris Benson scored his first-ever win in the Late Model feature, while Jeremy Miller, Dan Ford Jr. and Jason Burkhart topped their respective feature races of the evening.

Hahn Takes Heritage Newspapers 100 at Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK MI (5-31-2008)-- The best night of weather for the 2008 season brought out a good crowd to Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night. Local favorite Paul Hahn captured the Heritage Newspapers 100 for the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, while Dennis Whisman topped a thrilling Figure 8 main, Regan Ford and Ed Hindall notched the Street Stock feature wins. Brad Turner capped the night with the win in the 4 Cylinder Main event. Bob DeSloover, representing the Heritage papers, presented the trophies to the winners. A large group of Scouts were on hand for Scout Night, and the UAW Local 387/3000 members were also in attendance.

Maran Grabs Flat Rock Speedway Pepsi/Autism Speaks Enduro 250
FLAT ROCK MI (5-25-2008)-- Birthday boy Jeff Maran grabbed the win in Sunday afternoon’s Pepsi-Autism Speaks 250 lap Enduro race at Flat Rock Speedway. Mike Bershback held back a great run by Ray McClure to win the 25 lap 4 Cylinder main event. A group of children from the Autism Society took pace car rides, waved the green flag, presented trophies and had their pictures taken with the winners on a beautiful day.

Loving Tops Figure 8 100 at "The Rock"
FLAT ROCK MI (5-24-2008)-- Defending champ Robbie Loving won a great duel with Dennis Whisman and captured the 100 lap ARCA Speedway Bar and Grille Figure 8 race Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway. Derek Wiley and Rich Abel were the winners in the two ARCA Greater Detroit Auto Auction Street Stock main events on a crystal-clear, yet cool evening at the track.

FLAT ROCK, MI (5-10-2008)-- Eric Lee, Jeremy Miller, Randy DeMaggio and Rich Abel were victorious in their respective feature events on Allen Chevrolet-Cadillac Night at Flat Rock Speedway. A crisp, clear evening greeted fans for the third night of racing at the ¼ mile asphalt oval. Tom Allen of Allen Chevy presented the trophies to the victors.

Flat Rock Dodges Rain
FLAT ROCK, MI (5-3-2008)-- While rain fell for much of the day just 3 miles from the track, Flat Rock Speedway saw just a pair of quick showers that lasted only a few minutes. The decision was made to continue with Saturday’s racing card. A dedicated cast of fans and race teams showed for the Armed Forces/Good Neighbor Night, taking in a swift and very competitive night of racing, which turned quite cold and breezy. SOUTHGATE MI (4-29-08)--Greg Studt (#86) won the Super Late Model Feature. It was his second career Late Model win at Flat Rock. He also won his heat race on Saturday. "It was a great race. Paul (Pelletier #44) kept the heat on and later Eric (Lee #5). I want to thank Jack's Garage, Gonyea Auto Supply, Porcupine Racing... I'm probably forgetting someone, so all my sponsors and my team. TOLEDO OH (3-10-08)--It's now official and in the construction phase-I-75 in both directions is CLOSED in Detroit between Clark Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard for the planned Ambassador Bridge interchange project. It is slated to be closed through Christmas of 2009.

2008 Flat Rock, Toledo Schedules Set
TOLEDO OH (12-15-07)--The return of ARCA's weekly racing divisions at both tracks and a few changes at each venue highlight the 2008 version of the Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway schedules. The two sister short tracks, just 30 miles apart, will combine their very competitive weekly race cards and a variety of touring series stops to create a very busy season at both facilities.

TOLEDO OH (12-4-07)--Richard Apperson, former ARCA Figure-8 and Enduro driver at Flat Rock Speedway, died of cancer at his home in Monroe, Michigan after a lengthy illness.
