Flat Rock Speedway 70th Anniversary Season Celebration 

All-time Winner Notes 

  • Joy Fair, the ten-time ARCA Late Model champion, leads all drivers with 159 wins, all in the late model division. He is 29 wins ahead of Bob Studt, who accumulated 115 wins in the ARCA Figure 8 division and another 15 wins in the ARCA Street Stock division. 
  • How dominant was Joy Fair over the course of his career? Dave Kuhlman is second on the all-time ARCA Late Model wins list with 40 victories, 119 behind Fair. 
  • Three-time ARCA Late Model champion Steve Bunge is third on the list with 30 wins.  
  • The legendary Danny Byrd is fourth all-time with 29 wins, just ahead of “The Carolina Flash” Royce Cornett with 28.  
  • Two-time champion Harold Cook and five-time titlist Eric Lee were tied going into 2022 with 24 victories each. They were both one ahead of another two-time champion Bill Steinhilber. 
  • Two four-time champions, Rick Knowles and Paul Pelletier, are tied ninth on the all-time wins list with 20 victories apiece.  
  • A total of 112 drivers have won at least one ARCA Late Model feature event since the division’s inception.  
  • Other notable names on the list include fan favorite Mark “The Turtle” Johnson with 15 wins, John Anderson with 14, former ARCA Menards Series winner at Flat Rock Speedway Ed Hage with 10, seven-time American Speed Association champion Mike Eddy with nine, Stewart-Haas Racing NASCAR Cup Series car chief Jerry Cook with eight, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winners Terry Cook with seven and Joe Ruttman with six, former ARCA Menards Series champion and NASCAR Xfinity Series winner Tracy Leslie also with six, John Wyman, son of Flat Rock Speedway’s 70th anniversary Grand Marshall Jack Wyman with two, former ASA champion Butch Miller, short track legend Junior Hanley, and Wisconsin short track ace Jim Sauter with one each. 
  • Bob Studt’s legendary ARCA Figure 8 career saw him win 48 more races than the next closest driver on the list, the equally legendary Dick Simmons. Dennis Whisman is third with 59 wins, just in front of the late Chuck Hall with 55. Five-time champion Denny Pace rounds out the top five with 49 wins. 
  • A pair of second-generation ARCA Figure 8 racers are next on the list with Robbie Loving at 47 wins and Billy Earley at 41. 
  • Another pair of second-generation racers, and cousins, are next as “The Wild Child” Jeremy Miller sits eighth with 40 wins, just ahead of Greg Studt with 37. 
  • Jeremy Vanderhoof, yet another second-generation racer, rounds out the top ten on the ARCA Figure 8 all-time winners list with 33. 
  • Sixty-three drivers have won at least one ARCA Figure 8 race over the years. 
  • The ARCA Street Stock division was instituted in 1977 and since then has seen more drivers win at least one feature event than any other division in the track’s history. A total of 116 drivers have won at least one feature event, four more than in the ARCA Late Model division. 
  • Brian Norton, 1999 and 2003 champion, leads all drivers with 51 career victories. Norton is also the track’s unofficial historian and has supplied the photos for this weekend’s 70th anniversary celebration. 
  • Ron Allen is second with 43 wins. Allen is also tied for 15th on the all-time list for the ARCA Late Model division with 14 wins. 
  • “Ol’ Blue” Rick Bundon is third on the list with 28 wins, just in front of Regan Ford at 26 and his brother Dan Ford, Jr. with 24. 
  • Only two drivers, Greg Studt and Ken Ahlgren, Jr., have collected victories in all three weekly divisions at Flat Rock Speedway. Studt has two ARCA Late Model victories, 37 ARCA Figure 8 wins, and 14 ARCA Street Stock wins for a total of 53 feature wins. Ahlgren collected single victories in the ARCA Street Stock and Late Model divisions, and racked up 21 wins in the ARCA Figure 8 division.
  • There are 22 drivers who have won in two weekly divisions at Flat Rock Speedway. 
  • Fourteen drivers have scored wins in the ARCA Late Model and ARCA Street Stock divisions: Ron Allen, Rick Knowles, Steve Cronenwett, Sr., Terry Cook, Dennis Strickland, John Wyman, Corey Duane, Rob Randa, Mike Jaynes, Bill Steinhilber, Jerry Cook, Gary Hawes, Stan Yee, Jr., and Kale Asztalos.  
  • Four drivers have won in both the ARCA Late Model and ARCA Figure 8 divisions: Robbie Loving, John Anderson, Jerry Makara, and Ricky Kargel. 
  • Four drivers have won in both the ARCA Figure 8 and ARCA Street Stock divisions: Randy Cronenwett, Dan Leppen, Ken Ahlgren, and Gary Cronenwett.
