ROYAL TRUCK-TRAILER TO SPONSOR FLAT ROCK 70TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT JULY 9

Royal Truck & Trailer Sales & Service, Inc. has agreed to the title sponsorship of Flat Rock Speedway’s 70th Anniversary event, scheduled for Saturday, July 9.  Four divisions of racing will hit the track with the evening concluding with the largest fireworks show ever at the ¼ mile paved oval.

Royal was founded in 1970 by the late Roy Bumgardner, with headquarters in Dearborn, MI.  His son, Carl, and his grandson, Ken, provide the leadership today for the company, which currently features store locations in Dearborn, Warren, Wixom, Gaylord and the recently-acquired Arista Truck Systems in Grand Rapids, MI.  Roy assisted several drivers with sponsorship from his successful business.  Carl joined the driver ranks and captured championships at both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways, and Ken also took his turn behind the wheel.

Royal Truck & Trailer Sales and Service, Inc. is one of the largest suppliers of new and pre-owned trailers, suppliers of heavy truck and trailer parts and accessories, and providers of trailer service in the Midwest.

“Our relationship with the Bumgardner family and Royal goes back to the 1970’s, stated Ron Drager, Owner and Promoter of Flat Rock.  “Roy put him name on several race cars for many years and eventually Carl and then Ken built and raced cars at our 2 tracks, while beginning a sponsorship program with us at the same time, and which continues to this day”, added Drager.  “Royal Truck and Trailer Sales is one of our longest-standing relationships,” said Drager.  We are very appreciative of the support the Bumgardner family and Royal Truck and Trailer has pledged to be a part of the official celebration of Flat Rock Speedway’s 70th Anniversary event.”

The track’s three mainstays of racing since 1977, the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Outlaw Super Late Models, the R & M Recycling Figure 8’s, the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks, will be joined by the ARCA Salenbien Excavating Late Model Sportsman division for the July 9 race card.

To conclude the event, race fans and teams will witness the largest fireworks show in the history of the speedway.  The Monroe Superstore Fireworks show will be more than doubled in size from the previous Fireworks events at the track.  “This is a great way to cap off a very entertaining, exciting and historic night for Flat Rock Speedway, said Drager.  “We will share more of our plans for this race soon as we prepare for our 70th season.”

Race time is set for 7 p.m.
