(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 27, 2012) - Competitors in ARCA's outlaw late model division, the Allegiant Gold Cup Series, will race for the second of six times this season in the series' first appearance at Spartan Speedway in Mason, Mich., near the capital city of Lansing.
Practice will begin at 2:30, with time trials at 4:30 and racing at 6. The Gold Cup Series will race 100 laps on the quarter-mile track.
“This gives our race teams a chance to visit another track and hopefully will add fans and race teams to all three tracks throughout the season,” said Ron Drager, ARCA president. “That is our ultimate goal. Many of the drivers that have entered have never been to Spartan to race, or it’s been a long time since they’ve paid a visit to the track. This adds to the interest and excitement of going to Spartan, and with several area racers also expected, it should add up to a great night of late model racing.”
Terry Senneker won the Gold Cup opener at Toledo Speedway on April 29. Additional Gold Cup races are scheduled for: June 23 at Flat Rock Speedway; July 6 at Toledo; July 28 at Flat Rock; and August 17 at Toledo.
