Word has been received that former ARCA Late Model owner Curt Wood passed away Monday, March 18.  Curt fielded the #58 machines and had several drivers, including current ARCA Late Model driver Joe Hawes for the 1986 and 1987 seasons.  Curt had battled pneumonia earlier this year.

A memorial service is to be held at a later date.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - March 23, 2013) - Never before in history has the ARCA CRA Super Series and the ARCA Midwest Tour competed together in the same race at the same track. That all changes in a big way in 2013 when both tours battle it out together and side-by-side at Toledo Speedway in April and again at Madison Int'l Speedway in August.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - March 22, 2013) - Angola, IN driver Scott Hantz is one of the first entries for the Saturday, April 20 “Border Wars” 7-Up 150 at Toledo Speedway.  The event will see the stock-bodied ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models and the ARCA Midwest Late Model tour paired together in competition for the first time in the history of the 2 groups.  A strong contingent of the top Late Model drivers is expected for the race, which opens up Toledo’s 2013 race schedule.

To: Flat Rock Speedway Enduro teams

The 2013 entry blank for the Enduro races is enclosed with this letter, if you have not sent in your entry. We will begin assigning numbers Monday, April 22. NUMBERS ARE SECURED BY A PAID ENTRY. If you do not have a paid entry in by April 22, car numbers from 2012 will be reassigned --- NO EXCEPTIONS.

We do have a limited supply of Hoosier Sportsman tires available. When supply of the Hoosier Sportsman tires becomes an issue, the Hoosier 880 tires will then be allowed. Bu for the May 18 race, only the Hoosier Sportsman tires will be permitted (and treaded street tires).

This matter will be discussed at each driver’s meeting.

You are welcome to attend the open practices at both Flat Rock and Toledo.

Flat Rock: Saturday, April 20, Noon to 5, and Wednesday, April 24, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Toledo: Sunday, April 28, Noon to 5.

*Enduro cars will also be eligible to compete in the X Car Division this season at Toledo.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - March 20, 2013) - Apparently, nothing wears out Ken Schrader. With 80-plus races on his 2013 schedule, the 57-year-old Fenton, Missouri veteran racer is already "16-up" on the season, and it's barely spring.

(MILLERSPORT, Ohio) - The ARCA Truck Series, in preparation for its 15th consecutive season of competition, has released some of its 2013 race dates.

Abigail "Abby" Lynn Young, 4 months old, passed away Friday, March 15 after courageously battling a heart ailment.

Abby is survived by her parents Shawn Young and Shannon Frantz, and grandparents Louis Young and Rich Frantz.

Visitation will take place Saturday, March 23 from 9:30 to Noon at Santieu and Sons Funeral Home, 1139 N. Inkster Road, Garden City, MI (between Cherry Hill and Ford Road).  A short service will take place at Noon, with burial at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West (Babyland), 34224 Ford Road in Westland, MI.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

TOLEDO, OH—March 14, 2013:  The Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille will host the annual Racer’s Reunion and Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club (MARFC) meeting Saturday, March 16.

Located on the grounds of Toledo Speedway, the Bar/Grille will also be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all day this Saturday, with a Jigg’s Dinner available.  The kitchen and bar will be open all day.  Admission to all festivities is free and open to the general public.

The Reunion begins at Noon and runs until 5 p.m.  At 6 p.m., the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club will conduct their monthly meeting at the Bar and Grille.  The Toledo location has hosted the March event for several years in conjunction with the Racer’s Reunion.  ARCA President Ron Drager will speak to the crowd about the 2013 plans for both shorts tracks and for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

Following the meeting, both tracks will give away 4 hour track rentals, pad rentals, tickets and more in a random drawing.  Drivers must be present to win.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - March 12, 2013) - Toledo Speedway and Flat Rock Speedway will celebrate significant milestones this season when the local tracks open for racing next month.

To all drivers and/or car owners:  If you have a number change or you haved moved to a different town, please let us know as soon as possible. Our print deadline for the program for our driver's lists is next Wednesday, March 13.

X CARS:  If you are also competing in another class, just keep your number for that division.  That is the number you will run in the X Cars.  We will sort out any number issues after a race or 2.

 **A Reminder pad rentals are due by April 12!  The form is located under forms on the track webpages.  Please fill it out and mail it in with your payment.  We are NOT mailing out forms.  After the deadline, the price goes up!

Mark down Saturday, March 16!  The annual Racer's Reunion at the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille goes from Noon to 5, and the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club (MARFC) Meeting is at 6 p.m.  We will be giving away pad rentals, 4 hour track rentals, tickets and more after the Fan Club Meeting!  Must be present to win!

(TOLEDO, Ohio - March 6, 2013) - When Toledo Speedway swings open its gates for the season-opening 7-Up 150 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour Late Models Saturday, April 20, history will be made as the event will mark the very first time these 2 touring Series will combine forces as one.  The Glass City oval will hold an open practice session Friday afternoon, April 19, with more practice, qualifying and the 150 lap race set for Saturday afternoon, April 20.

Southgate Anderson High School Senior Kayla Miletti now has something her step-father, Tim Moore, does not have—2 championships!

Kayla is a member of her high school Competitive Cheer team, which clinched their second Division I Michigan State Championship in a row last weekend in Grand Rapids, MI.

Tim is the 2011 Flat Rock Speedway Street Stock champion—and he has some work to do to catch up!
