ARCA goes 'Hollywood' ... Schrader, Theriault special guests in Press Conference Tuesday

TOLEDO, Ohio (March 27, 2017) -- ARCA is headed to Hollywood, or at least as close as it gets around here. More like Hollywood Casino Tuesday afternoon, March 28 for the annual ARCA Toledo/Flat Rock Speedways Press Conference near downtown Toledo.

Special guests this year include racing industry icon Ken Schrader and ARCA driver Austin Theriault. Schrader's No. 52 car won the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season opener at Daytona with Theriault in the driver's seat. Schrader, 61, has already raced in 10 events in 2017 and is getting ready for a dirt modified triple header coming up in Iowa and Terre Haute. Theriault is flying in from Charlotte, N.C. for the presser, while Schrader is coming in from his dirt race shop in St. Louis.

"I really like the way ARCA has these annual press conferences for the tracks," said Schrader. "It brings people out there, creates excitement...it's just good thinking."

Schrader is a five-time ARCA Racing Series winner at ARCA's home Toledo track, including his most recent there in 2013.

"For the ARCA Series, Toledo is as good as it gets. It's grassroots racing at its best. It really showcases the ARCA Series...taking those big heavy ARCA cars and putting on a great show on that little track. Toledo fills the grandstands for this event every year...it's very exciting. If I had to pick my two favorite ARCA tracks, it'd be DuQuoin (mile dirt) and Toledo."

Theriault will be making his career-first start at Toledo in the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care Sunday afternoon, May 21.

"I'm looking forward to it," said Theriault.

"I've never been to Toledo...to the track or the city. I've done a couple press conferences before but never one for a race track. Schrader's done 'em before...I'll get some insight from him on how this all works. I'm excited."

Former ARCA Press Conference guests include Bobby Allison, Benny Parsons, Frank Kimmel, David Ragan, Brad Keselowski, Justin Allgaier and several more.

Toledo/Flat Rock GM Scott Schultz will lead-off the Press Conference at 1 p.m. with several big announcements regarding the 2017 seasons at both tracks. ARCA President Ron Drager is also slated to make a presentation. ARCA's Don Radebaugh will close the conference with interviews with Schrader and Theriault.
