MICHIGAN, OHIO FIGURE 8 CHAMPIONSHIPS SET

December 1, 2016: It’s a war, all-out war—Michigan vs. Ohio State. Whatever your thoughts are regarding the outcome of last Saturday’s historic football game, next year’s game will once again serve as the showdown for bragging rights. At Flat Rock, MI and Toledo, OH Speedways, there’s a new war about to begin for the “Motor City Madmen”—The Michigan and Ohio Figure 8 Championships!

The daredevil-driving style of the Figure 8 race offers great excitement and breathtaking near-misses at the intersection as the cars cross at the “X” at full speed lap after lap!

A pair of 40 lap events for the ARCA Figure 8 division, each on the famed Figure 8 tracks of both facilities—have been added to the schedules for the upcoming season. The Ohio Figure 8 crown is set for Sunday, May 28 at Toledo Speedway. This special Sunday night event will also feature a 25 lap Figure 8 contest for the ARCA Factory Stocks, a full show on the ½ mile for the ARCA Late Model Sportsman cars and, for the very first time, a Kids Power Wheels Demo! The annual Racer’s Reunion will also take place May 28.

Saturday, June 24 is the date for the Michigan Figure 8 Championship 40 lap battle. Flat Rock Speedway has served as the home of the Figure 8 class since its inception in 1961! Joining this event will be the ARCA Late Model Sportsman cars for a 50 lap “Silver Cup” Series race, plus there’s a full race card for the ARCA Street Stock division.

A special purse, special trophies and awards awaits the wild, rock-em, sock-em ARCA Figure 8 pilots for both the Michigan and Ohio Figure 8 Championships in 2017! Who’s the best?? Who has the bragging rights?? Mark your calendars and as track announcer Gary Lindahl says “Look out”!

The complete 2017 schedule for both Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways will be released in mid-December.
