BIG NIGHT OF ACTIVITY SATURDAY AT FLAT ROCK; ENDURO BONUS $$ GROWS IN MEMORY OF BRANDON SWANSON

Flat Rock, MI—August 23, 2016: Flat Rock Speedway will host the Monroe News 250 lap Enduro race this Saturday night, August 27, as part of a big night of racing. The Enduro race will carry bonus awards in memory of Brandon Swanson, an Enduro competitor, who passed away recently. A total of 450 laps of feature racing, and, with the heat races, fans will see nearly 500 laps of action Saturday night!

Due to the expanded content of the racing program, an earlier start will see preliminary heat races beginning at 6:15 p.m.

The night if filled with activities and plenty of racing! NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Chris Buescher will greet race fans and sign autographs Saturday, August 27. It’s also Kids Night, with all kids to age 12 admitted FREE and each will receive a free hot dog, courtesy of the track.

On the track, fans will see the 7-Up 125 for the ARCA /CRA Super Series Late Models powered by Jeg’s, the Harris Mechanical Season Championships for the ARCA Victory Lane Oil Change Figure 8’s and the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks, and the rescheduled Monroe News Enduro 250. An autograph session with the ARCA/CRA drivers will also be held.

The first Enduro bonus is the “Mystery” starting position. After qualifying, a starting position number will be drawn. If that driver wins the race, they will collect the $450 bonus. Sponsors of this bonus include Sunny Media Group, Suburban Calcium Chloride Sales, Glass City Motorsports and the “Flat Rock Speedway Family Alliance”, which includes donations from current and former drivers. If no one wins this bonus, it will roll over to the September 10 Enduro race.

The second bonus is for the “Mystery” finishing position. The number will be drawn after qualifying; the driver that finishes in that position will collect a $52 bonus. Swanson’s car carried the #52.

Bonus number 3 awards a $52 bonus to the leader of lap 52, courtesy of Tony’s Tires and Glass City Motorsports.

Bonus #4 will see the driver who improves the most positions collect a $52 bonus from Dennis Bodary.

And bonus #5 is a $52 award to the driver that is leading at the lap 152 mark, courtesy of Jim's Catering of Mt. Clemens, MI.

To qualify for the bonus awards, the car must carry the #52 decals on both sides of the car. Enduro drivers Jimmy Tucker and Jacob Thomas will have the decals available at the track and they are $3 each.

The pit area opens at 12:30 Saturday for the ARCA/CRA teams and 2 p.m. for the rest of the classes. Practice begins at 3, the front gates and ticket office open at 3, time trials are at 5 and racing begins with a special start time of 6:15 p.m. The current entry list for the 7-Up 125 is in the next race box on Flat Rock’s home page, in addition to race day information.
