INAUGURAL “MICHIGAN BEER MILE” TO BE HELD AT FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY NOVEMBER 14

INAUGURAL “MICHIGAN BEER MILE” TO BE HELD AT FLAT ROCK SPEEDWAY NOVEMBER 14

Flat Rock, MI—October 5, 2015:  Flat Rock Speedway will serve as the host site for the first-ever “Michigan Beer Mile” Saturday, November 14.  A portion of each entry fee received will be donated to the Movember Foundation, which targets Men’s Health.

Boogahonk Events, LLC of Ann Arbor, MI is the promoter of the unique event.  While there have only been 2 official beer miles in the United States, the Flat Rock race will now make history as the first in the state of Michigan. The event, which has been unofficially staged across the country on college campuses and various other venues “in the dark”, now has an official date and time for a race unlike any other.

The concept is simple and fun; drink four beers, run/walk 4 laps. Both individual and relay races will be held.  Each contestant will consume a 12 ounce beverage (beer), then walk and/or run 1 lap, or a ¼ mile, the size of Flat Rock’s race track.

The first 100 registrants will receive a Budweiser/Bud Light Platinum gift package, courtesy of Floral City Beverage of Monroe, MI.  Each participant will be timed.

To register for the event, go to www.themichiganbeermile.com.  The event is slated to begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 14.  Family, friends and spectators are welcome and encouraged to be a part of history at “The Rock”, Flat Rock Speedway for the Michigan Beer Mile!
