CHAMPIONSHIPS, NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION FRIDAY AT TOLEDO; FLAT ROCK TITLES TO BE DECIDED SATURDAY

A big weekend of fun and excitement is scheduled for Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways!  Friday night, August 28, Toledo will host the LKQ Pick Your Part “Night of Destruction”, along with the Season Championships for 3 classes.  Flat Rock’s Heritage Newspapers Season Championship races will be held Saturday evening, August 29.

Friday’s race card will see the 2015 Toledo track titles decided for the ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman, Praxair Figure 8’s and the ARCA Factory Stocks.  Mike Young leads Ron Allen, Jim Froling, Greg Stilwell and Kenny McKay Jr. for the Late Model Sportsman class, Jeremy Vanderhoof is the Figure 8 leader over Dennis Whisman, Race Loving, Scott Apperson and Robbie Loving, while Matt Ringger has a slight edge over Rick Bennett, Craig Osenbaugh, Jeff Metdepenningen and Robb Remick in the battle for the Factory Stock crown.

Following those championship events, the action turns to four contests, featuring the School Bus Figure 8 race!  There’s also the Figure 8 Train race (2 cars chained together; front car has the engine, back car has the brakes), the Boat Figure 8 race (yes, race cars towing boats and trailers) and the Flag Pole event (each lap, the cars must circle a flag pole/tire in both the front and back straight-aways).

Tickets are now on sale at the track office on Benore Road or by calling 419-727-1100.  Most major credit cards are accepted.  The pit gate opens at 4, the front gates and ticket office will open at 5:30, practice begins at 5:30, time trials are at 6:45 and show time is 7:30 p.m. Friday night!

Flat Rock Speedway will decide its 2015 track champs Saturday evening, August 29.  The ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Model battle has Justin Schroeder ahead of Steve Cronenwett Jr., Dennis Strickland, Derek Wiley and Paul Pelletier.  A great showdown is in the works for the Praxair Figure 8 division, as Robbie Loving leads Billy Earley by just 5 markers.  Jeremy Miller, Dennis Whisman and Greg Studt round out the top 5 point men heading into Saturday’s final point race.  And another tremendous race is set for the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock championship, with Landon Schuster only 5 points up on Scott Selmi.  Tim Moore is within striking distance also, while Nick Shanks and Kyle Worley are next in line with 1 race remaining.  Jeffrey Kurzyniec is the leader of the Street Stock B Main point chase, with James Pankow, Adam Jezylo, William Lauria and Robbie Moore trailing the leader.

Snap-On Tools will award the 5th and 9th place finishers in the Late Model and Street Stock A Main races impact wrenches as part of their support of the track’s race teams.

Saturday’s time schedule has the pit gates opening at 2:30, practice begins at 4, time trials are at 5:30 and racing gets the green flag at 7 p.m.  The front gates and ticket office will also open at 4.
