EARLEY LEADS FLAT ROCK WIN PARADE

EARLEY LEADS FLAT ROCK WIN PARADE

Flat Rock, MI—May 16, 2015:  Flat Rock Speedway was the site for the NASH ICON 98.3 Ladies Night Saturday evening.  A nice crowd turned out despite the early rain showers and overcast skies.  Billy Earley captured the ARCA Praxair Figure 8 feature, Kyle Worley was victorious in the 25 lap ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock main and Robb Remick notched the win in the 250 lap Monroe News Enduro event.

The heavy over-night rains made the Figure 8 track a bit slick on the edges and it got really wet when Dennis Whisman and Greg Studt got into each other, sending both drivers and the rest of the trailing field through the water puddles in the grass infield.  Studt went pit-side and took responsibility for the incident, putting Whisman back on the point.  Dennis led the pack for 12 laps, but Billy Earley charged by on lap 13 to take control and sped to the win in the 20 lap Praxair Figure 8 feature.  Whisman took second, Jeremy Miller third, Robbie Loving fourth and Parker Wade fifth, followed Race Loving, David Katafiasz, Jacob Lee, Stephanie Bradley and Ethen Lambert.  Miller and Bradley took the heat race wins.  Studt set the Fastime Racing Engine and Parts quick time with a lap of 21:003.

Second generation driver Kyle Worley led all 25 laps and withstood several challengers to score the win in the 25 lap ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock feature.  Landon Schuster, Craig Lange and Nick Shanks all looked to the high side of Kyle but could not pull off the move for the lead.  Scott Selmi slid up into second at the checkered flag, Shanks was third, Rob Moore fourth and Schuster fifth.  Tim Moore, Steve Cronenwett Sr., Lange, Clyde McKee and Jeff Luttermoser completed the top ten.  Shanks set the Fastime Racing Engine and Parts at 13:565.  Joe Haener, Cronenwett Sr. and Rich Abel were the heat race winners.

The Monroe News Enduro Series hit the track for the first of five-250 lap events for the season.  Bobby Hugo, Troy Brehmer and Robb Remick took turns leading the first half of the event.  The 23 car field ran at a quick pace.  On lap 136, Jeff Metdepenningen rolled by Remick to take the point and stayed out front to the checkered flag.  Jeff’s car failed post-race inspection, moving Remick up 1 spot to the win.  Derrick Sheppard was second, Jeff Braun third, Kyle Metdepenningen fourth and Rick Bennett fifth, followed by Merrick Martin, Jacob Thomas, Derek Denton, Ian Rumble and Jimmy Tucker.  Jeff Braun set fast time at 14:256.
