PRE-SEASON ACTIVITIES ABOUT TO BEGIN FOR FLAT ROCK, TOLEDO

Toledo, Ohio—February 27, 2015:  Despite the snow and cold, Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways are prepping for several pre-season events to kick off the 2015 racing season at both ARCA-sanctioned short tracks.  The new pocket schedules, ticket order forms, membership forms and more will be available at each venue during the events.

Saturday and Sunday, March 14-15 the tracks will have a booth at the Bedford, MI Trade Fair at Bedford High School, located at Jackman and Dean Roads.  On the same weekend several race teams will participate in the annual car show at the Bowling Green, OH mall . 

The 2nd annual Motor City Hot Rod and Racing Expo at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, MI. is set for the following weekend of March 21-22.  The tracks will have a very notable presence at the Expo, featuring the ARCA booth that was in operation at the Performance Racing Industry Show in Indianapolis.  Paul Pelletier (ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Model), Jeremy Miller (ARCA Praxair Figure 8) and Rob Moore (ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock) will have their cars on display for the weekend, as well as a Bandalero race car. 

The busy weekend will also see the annual Racer’s Reunion/Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club (MARFC) meeting on Saturday, March 21 held at the Toledo Speedway Bar and Grille banquet room.  The Reunion is a gathering of former and current racers, officials and crew members taking part in a day of bench racing, with thousands of photos and memorabilia from tracks across the country on display!  The reunion runs from Noon to 6 p.m.

The MARFC meeting will take place immediately after the conclusion of the Reunion.  The club will conduct its monthly business meeting and will also feature several guest speakers.  Admission to the entire day of activities at the Bar and Grille is free and open to the public.  Food and drink specials will be available the entire day.

The tracks will also take part in the Super Fitness Member Appreciation Day at their Alexis Road location in Toledo Sunday, March 22.

Toledo Speedway opens its gates for 2015 Saturday afternoon, April 11 with the 7-Up Twin 100’s.  Late Model racing will highlight the day with a pair of 100 lap main events on the fast ½ mile.  The ARCA/CRA Super Series presented by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Models and the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup outlaw-bodied Late Model Series both begin their new seasons on this day.  Race time is 3 p.m.  A rain date of Sunday, April 12 has been established.

Flat Rock Speedway roars to life Saturday, April 25 with the Jet’s Pizza Season Opener for the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, ARCA Praxair Figure 8’s and the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks in action.  Race time is 7 p.m.
