Rick Turner Set To Break ARCA/CRA Super Series All-Time Career Starts Mark At Flat Rock Speedway

Yorktown, Indiana (Friday, August 15, 2014): Rick Turner and the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS go hand in hand. Since the inaugural 1997 season, Turner has been one the mainstays in the series. The 56-year-old from Yorktown, Indiana is at or near the top of every major statistical category in ARCA/CRA Super Series history and on Saturday, August 16th at Flat Rock Speedway (MI), when he takes the Green Flag in the 7-Up 125, he'll stand alone on top of the mountain in one of the most important statistical categories of all; All-Time Career Starts.

After tying the record currently held by Kenny Tweedy, at Kalamazoo Speedway (MI) on August 13th, Turner will make his record breaking 224th career start at the fast 1/4 (0.250) mile semi-banked paved oval in Southeast Michigan. A special nuance to the record breaking moment will be the fact that it'll be set at one of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) home tracks with the ARCA name being added to the CRA Super Series prior to the start of the 2013 racing season.

"It's amazing to think I have that many starts. I've been doing this a long time and to be working with Glenn  (Luckett), R.J. (Scott), Greg (Wood) and everyone at CRA over the years has been a real honor," The Hoosier State veteran offered. "It's the best series in the country and I feel very fortunate to have been a part of it since the beginning. We've missed a few races over the years, but to see the series grow from eight races in 1997 to what it is today has been a real privilege to be a part of. I want to thank everyone, crew members, sponsors, everyone who has had a hand in getting me out to the track. Without any of them, we wouldn't be able to do this." He added.

As for the next race at Flat Rock, Turner  is eager to show that he can still get the job done as he enters the 7-Up 125 tied for fifth in the season long points chase and is only nine markers out of fourth spot in the standings. A season high finish of seventh was recorded at his home track of Anderson Speedway (IN) back on April 26th and although both Anderson and Flat Rock are both 1/4 miles, there are few similarities. "We had a great car there last year in finishing third. I can't wait to get back there and have another solid run. Maybe we can cap off the night by breaking the record and then taking that checkered flag." He smiled.

For the rest of the 2014 racing season, Turner's familiar black and red #26 will have sponsor decals and support from T.J. Racing Lubricants as well as McGunegill Engine Performance, G&G Oil of Indiana, AR Bodies, Schoenfeld Headers, Port City Racecars, Q.S. Components, A.J.'s High-Speed Graphics, Heartfelt Creations, M.P.H. Promotions and Rick Turner Racing.

As for Rick Turner Racing's development driver, 17-year-old Cole Rouse, his next race in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance is on Sunday, August 31st at Winchester Speedway (IN) as his black and yellow #20 ColeRouseRacing.com Toyota Camry will have stickers adorning the car all year long from Rouse Custom Homes as well as McGunegill Engine Performance and M.P.H. Promotions.
